The Reaping 2009-08-17

I am fascinated with dark art and faulty technology. My sound represents a combination of the two that expresses society's decline due to it's reliance on a malfunctioning digital age. I don't fancy myself a "musician" by any means, just a moulder sculpting various sound forms, assembling bits and pieces of a shattered story.

My work is an ever changing shape-shifting process. I am constantly exploring other sounds and tinkering with old ones.All of what you hear is a manifestation of different ideas.

Lumen Kishkumen is the experimental electronic and noise music project of Severus Mahan Kishkumen. 2011 was the project's inaugural year, and what a year it has been. Kishkumen has performed at Hal McGee's Apartment Music #11 (solo), Apartment Music #13 (with Nicholas Rejack), the Mark McGee birthday show (with Hal McGee and Nicholas Rejack), and Laboratory Music #4 (with Steve Ladensack). He has also appeared on Ilse label's Florida compilation, "Little Bunny Was So Happy," and Hal McGee's Contact Compilation vols. 1 & 2. 

My name is Raül Peix, I live in Barcelona and Ralp is my moniker. I consider myself a technology enthusiast, from retro to modern, I love synthesizers, analog and digital, and I like electronics, glitch, sci-fi, programming, and DIY culture.
In my spare time I make experimental electronic music, produced with hardware and software, I use 8 Bit systems such as the Game Boy and I like to build and modify my own machines. I collect Game Boys and other machines and actually pretty much any device that crosses my path.
I'm currently working as part of a design, motion graphics and sound design studio called Device, and among other projects I'm co-directing an 8 Bit and Circuit Bending Net Label called Lowtoy, and an 8 Bit audiovisual collective called Distortled Box.
