For signals 033 we welcome Rotterdam-based DJ and Producer, Marienus. 

After a handful of years of DJing on both the airwaves as host of his own Operator show, No Soap Radio, and in clubs for organisations such as Pinkman, he has proven his worth within Rotterdams vibrant club scene.

Now dabbling with production, he recently released his debut track, a collaborative effort with xceptor as part of a compilation on his own crews imprint, Public Sex Regime. 

In his sets he showcases gritty, grimy electronics, blending styles sucu as industrial, ebm, wave, electro and techno with influences of hip-hop and weirdo experimental. By breaking the boundaries between the aforementioned genres the young artist has cemented a recognisable and distinctive sound.

After nearly a decade of experimentation in electronic music, Leeds/London-based Kessie has developed a distinct sound. Being hard of hearing, Kessie’s relationship with audio is a physical and vibrational one, reflected in her thumping off-kilter selections and intricate mixing. After a 12-months which has seen her play at Fold, Open Ground, Berghain and many more of Europe’s respectable clubs, expect to see Kessie’s penchant for the raw and cathartic in a dark room near you soon.
For now, get lost in this 1 hour mix, where Kessie accelerates to peak time mode with the use of pounding basslines and playful grooves hoping to trip you up every now and again.
