ABOUT | If you've been anywhere close to Lee Kotick's music over the years, you can almost smell the aroma of a lit Cuban cigar hovering over the resonance of he and his band's finely tuned stringed instruments. Following up last year's Sundrops on the Water, The Sharp Flatpickers return with the aptly titled, Cigars and Guitars (Mountain Fever, 3/25). A mostly bluegrassy/folksy instrumental album (Kotick & band's strength), the title track's lyrical content is a fun ditty on what makes them tick! SHORT BIO | Guitarist Lee Kotick is a regular contributor to the publication Bluegrass Unlimited and in addition to being a master musician, is somewhat a jack of all trades. Spending most of his professional life in education, Kotick now fronts The Sharp Flatpickers and applies the same love & dedication to this new venture as he has on a lifetime of devotion to the arts.
