Disto - Outspring [FREE DL]

This piece was created by techlab.bp members slym and szoliver for the final edition of Hungary’s Kolorádó Festival, held deep in a forest near Budapest. They had the honor of closing the legendary Csodaszarvas Stage forever, and composed this track as the opening moment of their set.

The stage’s name refers to the Csodaszarvas (“miraculous stag”), one of the most ancient symbols in Hungarian mythology. According to the myth, the stag led the ancestors of the Hungarians on a journey to new lands, becoming a timeless emblem of guidance, destiny, and the search for community.

In that same spirit, this track was written as a musical invocation of transition and unity, a final call to gather, journey, and celebrate together under the forest canopy, before the Csodaszarvas Stage passed into legend.

At the end of summer 2025, after a season of playing mostly sunrise slots at outdoor events and festivals with fast, euphoric, and hypnotic sets blending old school trance and acid trance, I wrote this track to capture and distill that feeling into one final statement. Inspired by the surreal, dreamy atmosphere of the 1980s sci-fi animation "Les Maîtres du Temps" by René Laloux and Moebius, which I saw at the Mo:Dem Cinema, the track channels the same sense of distant weirdness and otherworldly journeys that echoed through my closing sets. I finished it just in time to play at my last festival gig of the summer, at INOTA.
