American artist Dan Sieg joined Silk Royal in October 2012 with one of the most memorable opening statements in the history of our imprint: the emotive progressive trance anthem "Breaking The Illusion," released under his "Dan & Sam" moniker. Over the last few years, we have had the enormous privilege of witnessing Dan's remarkable evolution as an artist, from his uplifting and lyrically profound vocal hit "Walls" (feat. Maxx Hennard) to his deeper, more introspective remix of Toby Hedges' "Images." His journey has now reached a new plateau with the arrival of his debut artist album: "A Sense Of Wonder." The album features 10 brand new cuts, all of which display Dan's immense artistic range, as well as the sensitivity and depth of feeling that have imbued all of his work to date.

The listener's journey begins with "Iris," which fittingly opened our Silk Royal Showcase #250 live event in San Francisco. A hypnotic arpeggio and distorted background synth provide an unforgettable intro, which is soon followed by a clubby, up-tempo house groove. The title cut appears next, which centers on delicate arps, celestial synth stabs, and a techno-influenced bassline motif. The brooding and pensive "Gloom" initially paints a bleak existential picture, yet ultimately delivers a deeply moving (and hopeful) melodic theme. The fourth cut on the album, "Erko," treats fans to an infectious vocal line from Dan himself, while a progressive house groove and lush melody offer additional aural sustenance. The album's lead single, "No Way Back Up," arrives next and features the sensational Australian duo Illuminor, who have proven themselves to be a formidable threat in both the production and vocal arenas. A breakbeat rhythm eventually crescendoes into a stunning chorus by Michael Ware of Illuminor; the combination of Dan's innovative groove and Michael's poignant vocal performance is truly breathtaking.

The second half of the album begins with "Welcome To The Alley," a sun-kissed, festival-ready anthem in-the-making. The song's psychedelic bassline will tickle your brain and simultaneously compel you to dance. Next in line, "Grace" offers a club-friendly, cavernous bassline and an outer-worldly atmosphere. The subsequent cut, "Wispy," is a slow-burning, after-hours affair, with an equally evocative soundscape. The album's penultimate track, "Techbruary," represents Dan's foray into tech house; it is also reveals the lighthearted and humorous side of his personality. Finally, the trance-influenced "Horizons" brings the album to a glorious conclusion. The numerous melodic layers shine through the track like beams of light, radiating positivity, hope, and a sense of interconnectedness amongst all of us who rely on music to best illustrate the human experience.

Here at Perplexity Music, we our extremely proud to introduce our first release on the label after months of waiting. As our aim is to become the pinnacle of melodic progressive house music, what better way than to start it of with a tremendous 4 track EP from the sensational Alex H. The Perth based producer has been climbing up the progressive ladder since 2012 & his remarkable talent can be heard instantly so take a moment to revel in the delight that is music for the soul. 

The first release of the EP, "No Turning Back" is a delectable vocal masterpiece that locks into the core of our emotions & expands in our minds. Comprised  up of tantalizing chords that emit solid & crisp sounds, steady kicks & brilliant melodies, the overall atmosphere is one that is vibrant & striking. The soothing warm vocals provided by Mona Moua blend perfectly with the flow of the production & the deliverance of the thought provoking lyrics are conveyed so beautifully.

Next up in this quality package is another out of this world collaboration & again, with another master of melodies that is Netherland sensation Roald Velden. Also having worked together previously, more prominently on Roald's album, the blend of these talents has earned a great following due to the pure emotion & the top notch effort & time they put into their productions. Prepare to delve into a journey of warm, blissful & magical textures that swoop right in the moment you press play. That's right, it really is that astounding.  With the colorful combination of the melodic elements, the superb heart felt sounds flow freely in a mix up relaxed percussion work & sweet piano lines once again. 

Last but not least is a huge collaboration with the gifted French talent James Woods so you know you’re in for a dynamic experience with "Atitlan". Having worked on the smashing release "Guadalupe" earlier this year, the outcome of what these two producers create is an explosion of luscious sound & this time is no different. Keeping with the gorgeous melody arrangements, the signature sounds of both can be heard so remarkably such as the luring piano lines pressed side by side powerful chord progressions. Add in the subtle female harmonized vocals that tie the production together & you have this easy on the ears, laid back production. 

As well as the 3 magnificent productions,  "No Turning Back" also has a dub version which is the last release on the EP & this is for those that want to create their own moving story in the minds & with the melodic elements like more evident, that'll be easy to get lost into.

Our third release this year is featuring three promising talents. The australian producer Manu Lei caught our attention for some while and already appeared on our 'SUNMELT Vol.3' Various Artists compilation. 

Manu Lei is contributing two absolutely amazing original tracks which are showing us his unique style and great talent in music production. 'Shadow Lights' is a smooth and dreamy Progressive House track which is definitely made for relaxing moments. The piano elements especially during the breaks are highly emotional all the way and make this track a magical one.
'Night Sky Date' truly tells a story from beginning to end. A beautiful piece of music which is showing a slight more powerful side of Manu Lei. Without losing his remarkable style Manu Lei is showing us his skills in creating different emotions in two of his productions. 

We are absolutely thrilled to present one of the most promising talents in the Progressive House scene. With only 17 years Kozoro is giving us nothing less than top quality on his remix of 'Shadow Lights'. His powerful interpretation is definitely one highlight of this EP and we are convinced that we will hear great things from him in future.

Another really young and highly talented producer is presented on the remix of 'Night Sky Date'. Californian artist Xanwow is convincing with a modern Progressive Trance remix. A catching breakdown and uplifting main part are making this track absolutely brilliant. The perfect way to round up an EP that only includes fresh and promising talents.

This week we're extremely proud to welcome the solo return of Winterya, after he's been featured on our collective compilations. And he does it with class with not one, not two, not three tracks but with a proper 5-track mini album that's sure to put endless smiles on your faces. Having been a Synth family member since our label's inception, it's with utmost excitement that we present what we believe it to be Winterya's magnum opus, thus far. 
Starting off with 'A thousand smiles', which couldn't have a more fitting name, we're hit with warm vibes from the first notes. Sunshine concentrate to say the least, the track has slight Tycho-like touches and a parade of melodies. We continue with 'Don't look back' and the title track 'Falling Seeds' , choons that have all of Johan's artist characteristics, warm pads, sun-drenched melodies and dreamy chords. We hit another high note with 'Cold air', the fourth track that is yet another embodiment of toes sunk deep into sand with its laidback groove and cheeky use of vocal chops. 
'Susanna', named after his sister, ends the mini album and is an ode to her. Packed with summer sounds, this release is perfect for your relaxing times, delivering high on the feel-good scale, being another proof of Winterya's huge talent for addictive 'butterflies in stomach' music.
