Just over 1 year ago, Silk Royal launched "Nothing Out Here", the debut artist album by Canadian phenom Nigel Good. Supported by a variety of leading international artists and reaching #1 overall on Beatport, the release proved to be an unforgettable experience for our imprint. The title cut from Nigel's acclaimed album has now been gloriously remixed by two esteemed electronic music veterans in their own right: Silence Groove (Poland) and Embliss (Netherlands).

Silence Groove, perhaps best known for his contributions to drum & bass, is a recent label recruit, having remixed Schodt's "Darkness Into Light". His take begins on firm footing with a strong progressive house groove, followed by the very welcome arrival of the main theme from the original mix. Silence Groove then backs these themes with a reworked chord progression, as well as a variety of fluttering and ethereal side melodies. However, the highlight of his remix does not occur until the break, when the groove suddenly shifts to a breathtaking progressive breaks interlude. The chords are again reworked in this section, to euphoric effect.

Embliss has been a dear friend of our imprint since our earliest days, so it's with special joy that we present his remix of "Nothing Out Here", featured already (in mixed form) on our recent "Only Silk 03" compilation. As the track commences, fans of the Dutch virtuoso will immediately recognize the beautifully mixed, full-bodied bassline, which immediately establishes his take in deep terrain. A top layer to the bass is then added, while a variety of atmospheric flourishes coalesce with stunning piano themes. Poignant synths and heavenly vocal stabs emerge near the climactic main break, which teases the full theme from the original mix. As the drop cathartically re-centers the track in cavernous territory, the listener can only conclude that Embliss' latest production is another masterclass effort from a unique voice in electronic music.

Every year on his "Only Silk" compilation, Shingo Nakamura contributes at least one original progressive track, which inevitably proves to be one of the release highlights. In 2015, it took the form of "Tribute, Chapter II", a follow-up collaboration with the exceedingly gifted Russian musician Stendahl. The Original Mix features a mellifluous soundscape, including a lush chord progression, gorgeous string effects, and, later, a timeless piano score. Our favorite moment is the breakdown, where the two artistic styles unite; specifically, Shingo's piano is joined by Stendahl's innovative and chilled breaks.

Terry Da Libra, who Shingo Nakamura himself recently described as one of his favorite musicians, graces us with the first of two inspired remixes. Global DJs and fans alike have marveled at Terry's marked growth in 2015, with hits like "Onirikon" helping to define his breakthrough year. His take once again showcases numerous midrange layers, soaring above a buoyant, flawlessly mixed rhythm section. Ethereal pads, subtle vocal effects, and an exhilarating new lead chord progression highlight Terry's exceptional interpretation.

Blugazer, an accomplished veteran who also experienced a watershed year, closes out the release with an uptempo, trance-influenced rendering. An awe-inspiring soundscape, featuring myriad melodic and atmospheric textures, is joined by a stormy bassline in the early going. Echoes of the song's original themes can be heard in the breathtaking breakdown, while more subtle, yet undeniably gorgeous melodic variations are contributed by the NYC-based phenom.

Having left his mark on the scene on some of the biggest labels around, Hamburg-based Jan Martin debuts on Synth with the poignant 'Way ahead of me' , featuring the breathtaking and melancholic vocals of Hysteria!.
The original mix will have fans of the genre in awe as Jan brings a sort of Nigel Good/Mango melange of vibes that will transport the listener back to the classic days of progressive. The vocals provide a serene and calm background, despite the lyrics portraying a love that's sweet and sour and will not gonna be fulfilled.
On remix duties we have NY's Anthony Nikita, which anchors his take in a more trancey territory, without losing the romantic aspect of the original, bringing forth a more powerful rendition, suited for ending a set.
The closer of the EP is the dub version of the original, allowing the listener to bask in the mesmerising production of Jan Martin.
A release that's rooted in love and romanticism and one we're very proud of, this is Jan Martin featuring Hysteria! with 'Way ahead of me'.

Opening up this new stunning release is 'Next destination', a quintessential Emro track with all his characteristic production signatures, a driving groove, an array of effects and melodies laid atop a striking chords backbone. Entering uncharted territory is 'Last forever', a melodic ballad offered in two equally mesmerizing versions, instrumental and vocal. The melodies never let go throughout the track, still with that underlying power that's expected from the young talent.
