Max’s love for the art form of mixing and his obsession with finding new music can be heard in the hugely successful CD series ‘Cycles’ and popular radio show ‘Cycles Radio’

Christauff began professionally DJing in 2004. It was all vinyl then, now it's all CDs, laptops and controllers. Times change, DJing evolves. Over the years he's played techno, trance, progressive house, elecro house, deep house and tech house. For the last few years it's been mainly tech house, deep house and bass music.

He ran multiple weekly dance parties for several years in Washington, DC with his crew District Ignition, playing opening sets for Paul van Dyk, BT, Chris Lake, Seb Fontaine, Menno de Jong, Jerome Isma-Ae, Uberzone, Charles Feelgood, Edgar V, Steve Duda (BSOD), Deepchild, and many others.

Christauff loves everything about dance music. He once ran a music conference, worked a couple music venues, and has held hundreds of dance parties and underground warehouse gigs over the years. He takes this "hobby" more than a little seriously--though he keeps his day job. 

He thinks he has a career and a life outside of this.

Based in Washington, DC, TonalTheory is a dynamic, self-taught producer/DJ duo that blends hard-hitting, percussive techno with melodic elements drawn from their classical backgrounds. In 2021, TonalTheory founded their label, Undertone, driven by a passion for supporting emerging artists. Since its inception, the label has provided 21 U.S.-based producers with their first release, establishing Undertone as a platform for boundary-pushing techno. Their signature high-energy label nights have become a staple in the DC underground scene, and through collaborations with leading venues and promoters, they have nurtured the local techno community while consistently elevating the talent around them.

TonalTheory’s impact extends far beyond Washington, DC, as they’ve headlined shows across North America, Europe, and Asia, delivering their relentless techno sound to fans worldwide. Their long-standing residencies at iconic venues like Soundcheck, Echostage, Flash DC, and The Owl Room, as well as performances at warehouse events hosted by promoters like 6AM, TechnoFamLA, and Twisted Lines, showcase their unstoppable energy and dedication to pushing the boundaries of techno on a global scale.

Elemental has be the go to  name in the East coast Rave scene when it comes to psy trance, From Headlining gigs  to opening and closing with some of the biggest names in EDM and Psy trance, and decimating festivals , which usually  provides many young ravers their first Psy trance experience , Elemental has secured his name as one of the most respected Vet names for a lost genre in the Rave scene .
