Listen to our selection of tracks taken from the new 2CD set, compiling the work of Can founder Irmin Schmidt’s solo and soundtrack work, including two unreleased Can remixes.

CD1 is a compilation of Irmin Schmidt’s extensive work as a solo artist over the past 30 years, whilst CD2 - compiled and presented by long-term collaborator Wim Wenders, is an insight into Schmidt's vast work as a composer for film and television for which Wenders has also written the sleeve notes.

The two CD compilation includes tracks such as Villa Wunderbar, Kick On The Floods and Bohemian Step, alongside unreleased remixes by Schmidt of two Can tracks, Alice and Last Night Sleep.

2 December 2013 will see the long-awaited release of the Can back catalogue, remastered on vinyl for the very first time. All 14 albums, including Out Of Reach and an exclusive live bonus album, will be released on 180g vinyl in a box set alongside original posters and artwork.

"The latest exclusive remix from the Topman Ctrl stable is a bona fide gem. Who could go and reconstruct, sprinkle their magic on, rethink and remix the brilliant new single from TOY? Peaking Lights, that's who.

Peaking Lights are Aaron and Indra, a musical duo from Wisconsin who came to prominence last year with their debut album '936'. It's an awesome listen, taking in sun-soaked reggae sounds, minimalist electronica, woozy, dreamy synths and some beautiful vocals to make your heart melt. Don't be fooled though; there is nothing soppy or soft about this band. Their music might make you want to float away but their beats still maintain a rawness and power that is solidly structured, taking in dub, pop and a healthy dose of krautrock to make something truly special.

Their specially commissioned remix for Topman Ctrl is a beaut. They've taken TOY's new single 'Motoring' (released on the excellent Heavenly Recordings label) and turned it into a foot-stomping, scuzzy epic, making the most of the song's natural highs and lows, while mixing in some magic drums to create something uniquely engaging.

Peaking Lights have a new album 'Lucifer' dropping on June 18th on the Weird World label. It features their son Mikko on some of the songs!"

The Synthesizer Studio Hamburg is a analog Synthesizer Recording Studio in Hamburg with ca. 30 Vintage Synthesizers and ca.15 Drum Machines / Beat Boxes / Drum Synthesizers. We love the legendary warm sound and the wonderfull design of vintage Synthesizers and Drummachines of the 70ies and early 80ies. 
 All possible Step Sequencers, Synth Arpeggios and Drum Machines are synchronized to the Midi Clock of the recording Computer.
