Sacred dance is the use of dance in religious ceremonies and rituals, present in most religions throughout history and prehistory. Its connection with the human body and fertility has caused it to be forbidden by some religions; for example, some branches of Christianity and Islam have prohibited dancing. Dance has formed a major element of worship in Hindu temples, with strictly formalized styles such as Bharatanatyam, which require skilled dancers and temple musicians. In the 20th century, sacred dance has been revived by choreographers such as Bernhard Wosien as a means of developing community spirit.

Indigenous ceremonial dance rituals around the world appear to preserve forms that were widespread in ancient times. For example, processionals and circle dances seen in indigenous dance today were used in ancient Egypt and among the Hebrews.[9] In ancient Egypt, dancers impersonated a deity such as the goddess Hathor, taking on the deity's attributes and interpreting the divine world for those watching.

In ancient Israel, the Hebrew Bible mentions dancing during religious worship.  The prophet Miriam led dancing following the crossing of the Red Sea during the Exodus. During the return of the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem, King David danced "before the Lord with all his might". Dancing is mentioned as something familiar, implying it was a common practice. Sacred dance is described in the Bible by verbs meaning dancing, rotating, jumping, skipping, and whirling. The dance was accompanied by hand-drums (tambourines), cymbals, flutes, pipes, lyres, harps, and lutes.

The Hittites are shown in a sacred processional dance in a c. 1200 BCrock inscription at the sanctuary of Yazılıkaya, near their city of Hattusa, in Cappadocia. A group of men wearing conical hats and tip-tilted shoes, and a group of women, dance in a running step towards a group of named gods and goddesses.

In ancient Greece, sacred dance was widespread; indeed, it formed a part of almost all worship, and the gods Apollo, Ares, Dionysus and Pan are all described as dancers, while other deities such as Artemis were described as dancing with their companions.

The Hawaiian Hula dances to Pele, the volcano goddess, survive, whereas European maypole dances have lost their meaning as tree-worship and survive only as folk tradition.

Biography:

"Karl(i) Konstantin Moos Pavlov" aka Synthex (2 Jan, 2000) is an enthusiastic and passionate musician born in Zug, Switzerland. He expresses himself mainly through his unique melodies, sound texture and variations in his tracks. The melodies express a deep and profound meaning and the way he mixes everything into one music source makes his tracks  thoughtful, mystical, happy, euphoric but also sad, melancholic and nostalgic. 

At the beginning of 2014 he started his own electronic music productions for his own pleasure and enthusiasm. 
In the summer of 2016 he already had his first DJ gig in his hometown. 
His first live set came only one year after his first gig at Ice Cube Wetzikon on the mainfloor. 
Since then he only played his own productions on his musical adventures. 
In 2017, he had his first international gig in Bonn, Germany. 
In 2018 he released his bootleg "7000 Dreams", which gave a whole new image to the melodic hi-tech/fast prog scene worldwide with half a million plays on all platforms. 
In 2019 he became a member of one of the most famous labels in Switzerland ProgVision Rec. and also joined the ProgStylez Family in Austria.
In the middle of 2019 he had the opportunity to play on the Lovemobile at the Streetparade Zurich 2019 (850'000 visits). 
Early 2020 he went to Copenhagen, Denmark to headline the "Atmosphere" event on 04.01.20. 
At the end of 2020 he released his single "Burnin Dawn" which totally knocked people's socks off and reached almost 200k plays on all platforms in half a year. 
In 2021 he joined the upcoming label and agency Infinity One Rec. in Germany and already released ten tracks with them to date.
In early 2022 he signed his first track "Rollin' Like" to the label Astrofonic Records and joined therefore the Hard UEFM Family.
2023: Synthex has made a one year break from releasing and focusing enitrely on new productions.
In 2024 Synthex joined one of the most popular hitech labels BLACK OUT in germany with his collab single "Inside" with Kopohobia. 
Synthex will perform at Shankra 2024 at the Horizon Stage Sat, 13. July 13.30 - 15.00.
