Regularly holding it down on dance floors such as Berghain and Fabric, Steph holds an extreme amount of poise and composure whilst conjuring infectious rhythm and groove. This headstrong approach has had Stephanie tour every corner of the globe for over a decade and still remains one of the most coveted techno selectors on the circuit right now. In both the studio and behind the decks Stephanie strives to bring a gritty modern spin on ambient, techno and experimental electronica, carefully curated and skilfully arranged into one seamless journey.

Bajo el alias de Xorpel, este madrileño de 27 años siempre está buscando la innovación y los contrastes en sus sets. Influenciado desde joven por sellos como Blueprint, Theory, Prímate o Warm Up entre muchos otros Xorpel siempre ha intentado rebuscar en lo más hondo de la industria para sacar el sonido que más se asemeja a su carácter.

Sus sets se mueven desde el Techno hipnótico, repetitivo y contundente hasta el sonido más groovy o hardgroove pasando por toques de electro o EBM.
Actualmente es residente de Ethos Alternative Club y Pomafest en Madrid, donde también es promotor junto a sus socios Symbiosis, Werc, Dani Duran y Root Noise.

Under the aka Xorpel, this Madrid born 1994 and based in Berlin is always looking for innovation and contrasts in his sets. Influenced from a young age by labels such as Blueprint, Theory, Prímate or Warm Up among many others, Xorpel has always tried to dig deep into the industry to find the sound that most resembles his character.

His sets range from hypnotic, repetitive, hard-hitting techno to groovy, hardgroove, electro, EBM and many other styles. He is currently a resident of Ethos Alternative Club and Pomafest in Madrid, where he is also a promoter together with his partners Symbiosis, Werc, Dani Duran and Root Noise.

Denise Rabe joins for DifferentSound Podcast #216.

Denise Rabe´s experience in the Berlin techno scene as a booker, radio host, promoter and dj since she relocated to German capital drawn by the possibility of a life in music, is reflected in the pragmatic, grounded artist she became and the unique, original voice she's developed as a producer. Her approach and work ethic can be seen expressed on every release she's done under her label, Rabe, where her music is matched with an equal amount of care, thought and work, in the vessels that contain it, within a coherent aesthetic and vision that informs music, artwork and presentation equally.

This has allowed her to recruit the artist who´s work resonates with her sensibility and can be heard in the remixes Rrose, Shxcxchcxsh, Headless Horseman, among others, have done for her releases on her and other labels. Imprints such as Mutewax, who released her first 12" in 2015, ARTS where she quickly became one of the label´s staples and Stroboscopic Artifacts where she published "Manifesto" in 2019, are clear reference points that describe her career and its development. 

Rabe’s particular inclination to sparse industrial soundscapes, gothic aesthetics, driven grooves under hooks that hypnotize as much as they distinguish, have propelled her 10 year career across stages all over the US, Asia and Europe, as well as the clubs that represent the apex of techno world wide such as Berghain and Tresor.

We recorded this podcast in a way we love to start most of our sets. Beginning with the deeper side of techno, slowly moving to more groovy and energetic techno, trying to mix it as a nice story for the listener. We always try to pay attention to dynamic changes in the kick and groove while focusing on hypnotic and spacey sounds that elevate during the set.

We just released a double pack of remixes from our Midnight Ensemble album, and we are celebrating 15 years of Dynamic Reflection this summer. This will be celebrated by a series of 5 vinyl EPs with 20 tracks from label resident artists and new upcoming talents. For us, this is a big milestone we achieved with the label.

If we talk about Paula Cazenave, we talk about Techno and a long career. Paula has been walking her case since the late 90s through the best venues and festivals in Spain, Europe and South America, highlighting her presence in such important events as Awakenings, DGTL, Brunch in the Park, Dreambeach, Aquasella and many more.
As an artist, we find ourselves in front of a real DJ, without frills. Her sets are built in the purest old school style: Technique, fast and smart mixes, versatility and eclecticism. She is characterized by hooking the listener on a journey without rest that can encompass everything from groove to dark and raw sounds. Her influences come from artists as diverse as James Ruskin, The Advent, Ben Sims, Surgeon or Slam, to name a few.
Since 2017, she has been immersed in the management of her own label Combine Audio releasing works by recognized Techno artists and new faces.

El mago argentino nos ofrece un viaje al futuro, su futuro próximo, con un set realizado 100% de tracks inéditos que saldrán a la luz en los próximos meses como Kølpøs o algunos de sus aka's como su otra faceta más conocida, el mítico residente de Under Club, Xhei.
Una oportunidad única de saber todo lo que viene en camino de este Mago de las cabinas.

Nació en Buenos Aires, Argentina. Kølpøs ha sido productor y diseñador de sonido durante muchos años. Este mago de los sonidos con apenas unas referencias ha conseguido estar en el punto de mira de todos los amantes del techno. A su primer disco 2x12 en el sello alemán Nachtstrom Schallplatten que no dejó indiferente a nadie, le sigue un lanzamiento en Granulart Recordings y recientemente otro en Tsunami Records, "Elementary Particles" es el nombre del último ep de varios artistas que incluye su track llamado "Sedna 90377", Techno áspero y oscuro con ese toque inconfundible de Kølpøs.

Javier Gantz, DJ y productor de techno con base en Madrid, ha trascendido las barreras de la música electrónica desde que se aventuró tras las cabinas en 2016. Gracias a su devoción por fusionar los sonidos que siempre le han cautivado, ha forjado una carrera distintiva y apasionada en la escena underground nacional. 

Influenciado por maestros clásicos como Regis y James Ruskin, así como por visionarios contemporáneos como Reeko y Blawan, sus sets son experiencias cargadas de texturas envolventes, líneas de bajo contundentes, sintetizadores hipnóticos y audaces producciones experimentales. Javier Gantz is a Madrid-based techno DJ and producer who has been pushing the boundaries of electronic music since stepping behind the decks in 2016. Thanks to his deep passion for blending the sounds that have always captivated him, he has shaped a distinctive and dynamic career within Spain’s underground scene. 

 

Drawing inspiration from legendary pioneers like Regis and James Ruskin, as well as contemporary innovators such as Reeko and Blawan, his sets are immersive journeys layered with rich textures, powerful basslines, hypnotic synths and bold experimental productions. Every performance is a carefully crafted sonic narrative, building in intensity and depth as it unfolds. 

 

Since 2021, he has also explored music production, releasing both under his own name and his alias ILL COMMUNICATION. His work has found a home on renowned labels like Illegal Alien, Selected Records, Index Marcel Fengler and Utopia Society, the label he co-direct

Pablo Oñate, nacido en Cádiz y con residencia en Madrid, es conocido artísticamente como Onn. Actualmente es residente de Sinapsis Electrónica, colectivo que actualmente está experimentando una gran ascendencia en la escena madrileña. 

Onn ha ido forjando su sonido a través de una mezcla de breaks en su época mas temprana y enamorándose poco a poco del techno Birmingham, Detroit y Berlín, su selección en vinilo crea un viaje rítmico donde la crudeza y la melodía se encuentran en perfecta armonía.

Cold and prickly like his origins from northern Italy, Lorenzo Papes aka P4PS makes a huge contribution to the European underground techno scene.
His tracks are constantly supported in clubs such as Tresor, Berghain, Fold and Bassiani by top artists such as DVS1, Richie Hawtin, Kaiser, Pfirter, Ben Sims to name a few.
His sound stands out for its dark and mental sonorities influenced by the underground scene and he has recently collaborated with major labels such as MindTrip, Rudiment, Subsist, Diffuse Reality, SRIE and Luminal.

Candela Paos Dj Malagueña, melómana desde la infancia y coleccionista incansable de sonidos.
Su pasión por descubrir música y compartirla, construir ambientes con ella y alimentar una colección
que no ha dejado de crecer, hizo que en unos cuatro años, en medio de uno de sus interminables bailes en la pista,
tuviera la revelación: debía aprender a mezclar toda esa música que llevaba dentro.

Desde entonces, Candela Paos afincada en Madrid desde hace media vida se ha abierto camino en la escena
electrónica con determinación. En poco más de dos años ha consolidado un estilo propio dentro del techno:
sets oscuros, hipnóticos, con bajos profundos y una carga emocional que nunca falta.
Para ella, pinchar no es solo mezclar pistas, sino narrar una experiencia a través del sonido.

La hemos podido escuchar  en espacios clave de la capital como La Asociación, compartiendo cabina con el
sello Selected Records;  participado en Jaleo Real, una de las fiestas más punteras del circuito madrileño; 
firmado un podcast para el colectivo londinense Heb Sed y su última aparición hace días en el aniversario conjunto de Kunst y Visceral.

Desde Estocolmo nos llega un podcast increíble de la mano de uno de nuestros últimos invitados, LAKEJ el jefe de SOLITÄR Records, que estuvo presente por primera vez en nuestra ciudad en nuestro showcase de Natchstrom Schallplatten y que hoy nos regala una hora que ya nos gustaría poder disfrutar cualquier noche en una pista de baile, simplemente brutal.

Based in Stockholm/Sweden, Lakej [ Lákeɪ ] emerges from a long heritage of Swedish techno. After many years of explorations to refine his sound, he debuted on Adriana Lopez label Grey Report with the solo EP Structural Cohesion. This debut presented a theme that would guide not only his sound but also his concepts and titles to this current date resulting in his own label and artistic platform: Solitär.With a huge love for details and rhythmic structures his music has evolved into an introspective, futuristic and yet timeless sound. With intricate textures, atmospheres and deep driving rhythms his music is constantly pushing forward contributing to the current modern underground techno scene.Since the debut his output has been steady on well established labels such as Semantica, NON series, Faut Section, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Soma and Kazerne (Mord).
