System Update presents their debut EP, "Altered States," the result of two years of work during travel and exploration across the diverse cultures and landscapes of southern Mexico.

Born in the Lacandon Jungle in Chiapas, it took shape on the Pacific beaches of Oaxaca, and was completed at Lake Pátzcuaro, Michoacán. Three transformative and magical places full of history, art, and energy that serve as an endless source of inspiration.

The EP consists of 8 tracks ranging from ambient to techno, laden with field recordings, textures, breaks, and sonic landscapes marked by organic and intuitive experimentation akin to a ritual.

The tracks invite a slow and reflective listening, a challenge in these times of immediacy and rapid consumption.
