Following the release of Twisted Heads comes Slacker’s most complete work to date. 
The artists debut LP - What Would I Do With Saturn - arrives on Lobster Theremin in late July and demonstrates Slacker’s killer ear for capturing the cross-sections that exist within UK sound; floating between the artist's drum & bass upbringing and introspective, world-building electronica. 


“The main idea was to think 'what would an outside observer to our planet think when looking down at this moment in time, what does the moon think when looking down on us?'” he says. “It was a way of me both building another world whilst also expressing the strife of the world that we were living in. I was lucky enough to be quite secluded in the first lockdown around a lot of nature, but then feeling the isolation ten-fold as I was so far away from civilisation. I think that the album has this schism represented in it with the more classically "nice" tracks standing next to the more aggressive and expressive tracks; it is both an escape and capturing of the world we live in.”

Amig@s vamos con otra entrega de nuestra mimada serie de podcast. Este nos ha costado un poco conseguirlo, hemos recorrido gran parte de nuestro sistema solar, hemos surcado nubes de polvo estelar y esquivado alguna que otra onda expansiva provocada por una supernova. Pero al fin, dimos con nuestro invitado, The Zenobit3, y su arte interplanetaria.

The Zenobit3 aka Sumerian Slave es todo un referente en esto del submundo electrónico y es que cuesta menos contar los años que no ha estado presente que los que lleva en esto. 

The Zenobit3 es la evolución de Dj Pitch, y sus comienzos se remontan a comienzos de los 90 donde estilos como el EBM más industrial, IDM, Techno, Hip-Hop, Drum & Bass, Electro, Ambient y marcianadas varias empezaban a alimentar su mente y su preciada colección de discos.

En esos años The Zenobit3 (Pitch) fue residente de diversas salas como Voltereta (ALK-MAD), Camelot (VLL) o Universe (MAD). Además, era miembro del colectivo Dark Archives enfocado sobre todo al Drum & Bass (and scratch applications). Colectivo que le llevó a actuar en diversas salas y festivales de toda la península: Zeus (COR), Metro (ALC), Yasta (MAD), Copelia (MAD), Moog (BCN), Sonar, Festimad o Phonetica.

En 2004 es cuando definitivamente gira al Electro y adopta el nombre The Zenobit3 y además comienza a darle a la producción. En este aspecto The Zenobit3 ha publicado trabajos en sellos como Drivecom, SETI Recordings, Elektrodos, Redsonja Records, Crobot Muzik, Eclectic Reactions o Electro Club Records. Sus producciones son precisas, con sonidos cristalinos, bajos sobrecogedores y melodías que van directas al alma.

Como Dj The Zenobit3 es de lo más crema que puedas escuchar y un defensor a ultranza de nuestro formato amigo, el vinilo. Sus sesiones son puro Electro donde tienen cabida sonidos procedentes de Detroit, UK o el norte de Europa todo ellos mezclado como pocos hacen y sin perder de vista la narrativa, la coherencia y la conexión con la gente. Sin duda, The Zenobit3 es todo un referente para los que amamos el arte del mixing de la forma más tradicional. 

Tanto sus Live’s acts como sus Dj Sets han llevado a The Zenobit3 a recorrer lugares y eventos de culto como 8Z8, Rephlex, Sugar Blood, We Are The Robots, Fémur, Analogical Force o Electro/Techno Cracks…

Domingo Dark Vinyl aka Kaxtelian is a DJ, radio host, producer, and member of Hypnotica Colectiva https://soundcloud.com/hypnoticacolectivarecords that has been spinning records since 1994. In the late 90s, he started his own radio show devoted to electronic music called “El Vinilo Asesino” (www.facebook.com/ElViniloAsesino) which was a success in the waves for 18 years, after which it turn into a podcast series format. He defines himself as an oldschool DJ, supporter of only-vinyl sets -always with three decks- and remarkably eclectic, ranging his sets from Electro, including Footwork, Techno, and UK Breaks or even Italo.

Robi Insinna AKA Headman revives underground classic ‘It Rough’ for 2013 with a package that includes the anthemic original Chicken Lips remix as well as new mixes from Headman and remixes from Scott Fraser and Remain...

Back in 2003 the Gomma label released Headman’s ‘It Rough’ featuring a superb slice of post punk/disco from Headman producer Robi Insinna and a remix from production duo Chicken Lips. The record was a massive success for the label with the Chicken Lips remix becoming an instant dancefloor classic and receiving a nomination from Groove Magazine as an ‘All time dance classic’.

Now almost a decade on Headman don and Relish Recordings label boss Robi Insinna has decided to re-release this much sought after record, introducing it to a younger audience who may well not have been around for it’s original release.

The single kicks off with the mighty Chicken Lips remix, a version that for many DJs has almost certainly never gone away. Stripped, at times brutally raw and totally mesmerizing this is a remix that is as timeless now as when it was first recorded. Taking it’s cues from early Chicago house the Chicken Lips boys take things back to an 808 and 303 approach to devastating effect, building a slow steady groove that is so full of compressed energy that a simple snare roll and ride at around the half way point acts as a tinderbox and quite simply takes the roof off.

Robi Insinna gets to grips with his own composition for a ‘2012 version’ and a ‘2012 reprise’ which sees the song morphed into an updated version keeping the funky post punk disco vibe with rich analogue synth lines, heavily delayed percussion and the distinct vocal refrain. The reprise sees Robi venture into acidic territory with a superb moog bassline that bubbles and mutates throughout the track adding another enticing layer to this already superb track.

For the remixes Robi turns to two of his favourite producers of the moment, both of whom have collaborated on the Relish label before, Scott Fraser and Remain. Scott takes the original and twists it into a brooding and emotive slice of electronica that delves into deep and techy territory whilst Remain delivers a wonderfully spacious & stripped version that wraps itself around a simple and infectious bassline.

A true classic revived for 2013 in the best possible way!

Joyce Muniz is back with the perfect follow-up to the taut electro of her ‘Glass Mistress’ release on PETS, this time back on her regular home of Exploited.
Following on from last year’s ‘Microdosing’ on the same label, she has once again excelled in creating a dynamic, charismatic slice of dance gold with just a sprinkling of pop sensibility.
‘Crystalline’ has a slightly more intense feel than its predecessor, with a snarling bass arpeggio swelling in teasing fashion over the crisp drums. A minimalist, clipped synth arpeggio provides a complimentary layer, with a woozy male vocal providing the rest of the required texture. A sassy, rapped, hip-house refrain is contrasted with airy looped harmonies which haunt the track in sensual fashion. Tense pads provide more drama and complete the retro-future feel.
Alt-disco legends In Flagranti provide a subtle rework, keeping the melodies intact but remoulding them with somewhat gentler textures and a more chugging tempo. More sensual and more laconically hypnotic with its tumbling conga rhyhtms and warm analog synths, it’s a very necessary addition to the package.

After a very good 2020, Logia Records begins 2021 with a pretty strong release. Chinosynth’s single “La gran ciudad”, a very nice indie-dance track that smells the 80’s.
This single is followed by great remixes package by DELLA, Favio Inker, XLR, and Renuna in collaboration with Playa del Karma.
The Argentinian born, Barcelona based DELLA, gives us more electro version, with a little rave waves. On the other hand, Favio Inker with his version expands the range of melodies, one of his specialties. From Mexico, XRL brings a darker remix, on dark-disco’s way.
The last of the remixes, made by Logia’s members Playa del Karma and Renuna, a techno version, born for the dancefloor.

Based in Los Angeles, Lionel and Ray have honed an infectious and party-starting sound that takes in serious references like New Wave, Post Punk, and the 80s proto house synth experiments of Anne Clarke, Yazoo and Depeche Mode, but never makes the mistake of taking them too seriously.
Their DJing style is as varied as it is energetic and is now winning them a loyal following in the US and around the world after tours of Mexico and Europe in late 2019 and early 2020. 

As skilled in the studio as they are in the booth, Pyramids is rather unbelievably only the second ever EP by the duo, after releasing a slew of of incredibly well loved remixes in the the 12 months since their debut release on Me Me Me last year, which saw the tracks Starlight Ceremony and Kenji both become bona fide club hits and a firm favourite of distinct DJs such as HAAi, Keinemusik and CC Disco.
