Mobilee invite South African pairing Mamela to make their label debut with ‘I Warmed You Up’.

A rising duo from South Africa’s flourishing melodic house and techno scene, duo Gordon and Valentin, aka Mamela, look set to keep things moving this May as they deliver their sophomore release. Hot on the heels of their debut via Katermukke, mid-April welcomes a first outing on iconic Berlin staple Mobilee via their two-track EP, ‘I Warmed You Up’. Recorded via samplers, a 303 and a Model D during a trip along South Africa’s East Coast, the productions combine resonant baselines and powerful synths with refined vocals and delicate textures to offer two commanding yet blissful cuts inspired by the exquisite locations visited during their travels.

After in all 9 EPs and one album the Traum artists Ryan Davis and Microtrauma have joined forces to record a new EP together. 

They're opening track "Harmonia" is a track with a great choice of variables and a skilled and artistic form of shifting and moving them within the track. The result is a loose and unpredictable track which has gigantic, sonic moments. At times it takes out the beat and pulsates along not loosing any of the intensity, the contrary is the case... with each free minded passage the track gains more depth. "Harmonia" is a tremendous piece of hypnotic techno with an gripping arrangement.

"Calendula" starts rather introspective and silent but undergoes an enormous transition which puts it in a league with some of the best gentle pieces of melodic techno around.
It is hard to wrap up in words how the track moves to totally different corners music wise within its eight minute ride but for all of you who know Ryan Davis and Microtrauma you will have expected something like this to happen.

Dubspeeka has remixed "Calendula" in the style of a raw and heavy grinding techno track that is invaded by sounds that come and go in perfectly timed intervals.

"Philomela" rounds up the EP and is night crawler of a track that skillfully works with a broken beat and a carpet of orchestral sounds that later are joined by darker ones to create an overall gloomy atmosphere.

In the run up to the launch of his new album "Diving For Lost Treasure" on Get Physical's sister label @metaphysicallabel in January 2021, @sailorandi teases us with another new single from it. "Clues" is out on November 20th and is a fantastic window into the lush soundworld of the full album.

Swedish singer, producer and instrumentalist Sailor & I, is renowned for his outstanding live act having performed worldwide at key clubs and festivals. This multi-faceted artist has worked and performed alongside some of the industry’s finest names including Paul Woolford, DJ Tennis and M83 and has released an album and singles on Skint, Life and Death and Black Butter. His debut album The Invention of Loneliness was a landmark release in 2017 and since then he has continued to evolve his indie-electronica songwriting skills as well as diver ever further into the world of leftfield sounds.

This new single "Clues" is a heart-swelling indie dance single with lush melodics. Glowing vocals muses on the heartache of relationships and soar up top. Richly layered pads and melancholic piano chords bring real emotion while loose drums roll on down low and the whole thing is subtle yet catchy.
This is another fine offering from the ever excellent Sailor & I.
