15 Yrs Systematic is the third part in the five year Systematic series, where Marc Romboy’s esteemed imprint, Systematic Recordings, celebrates each five year milestone with a compilation of exclusive tracks. This edition features special releases from John Digweed, Fideles, ARTBAT and label frontman Marc Romboy.

Such a milestone deserves and demands a suitably special celebration of everything the label has achieved. Having first planted its roots in the summer of 2004, the imprint has nurtured a collective of producers whose musical ethos goes hand in hand with Marc’s sonical vision. The likes of Stephan Bodzin, Joris Voorn, Maetrik (Maceo Plex), KiNK and Laurent Garnier have all found a home on Systematic Recordings, forming a family of esteemed artists whose soundscape is at the heart of the label’s core values.

The compilation traverses the many forms of house and techno whilst similarly conveying the emotive feelings behind Marc Romboy’s desired soundscape. The opening track from Marc, Shooting stars never stop, begins proceedings as elegant synths and soft hats take us on an astral journey. Sascha Braemer, a fellow German, provides Matar, as spectral whirrs are complimented by driving kicks; whilst Diynamic Music affiliates Artbat produce Orbital, another starlike cut that features the perfect dose of acid pulses. 

Esteemed Italian duo Fideles’ Midnight Rembler gracefully rolls as the thud of the kick is complimented by a shimmering bassline, before John Digweed and Nick Muir’s Alkuon takes us on a tribal voyage with bongo-like percussion that leads into a compelling, ricocheting drop. Giorgia Angiulli’s Ocean Toys is an atmospheric and moving sequence, whilst Okeechobee, courtesy of Marc’s long-term collaborator Rodriguez Jr., drifts between dubby pads and thumping kicks. 

British export Jimpster delivers Pipe Dream, featuring a xylophone-like background melody alongside a groove-laden piano roll, whilst Free Range Recordings staple Pezzner produces Little Ghosts, a driving, no-nonsense acid number. A firm favourite of Spain’s electronic music scene, Henry Saiz’s Wormhole is another astral composition that features emotive meaningful synths; before Music Man Records boss Petar Dundov serves up Dream of You, which cooes with an introspective poignancy. 

Polar Vortex builds pace as unrelenting kicks merge with flickering hats, courtesy of Venezuelan duo Fur Coat; before leading into Robert Babicz’s Coast to Coast, darting between melancholic synth stabs and resonant percussion. 

South American duo, Animal Print, produce Neon Avenue as a weighted beginning gives way to ethereal bell chimes, before Rodriguez Jr. and Marc Romboy’s collaboration L’ Aspiration rounds off the album with awe-inspiring piano rolls and touching, echo-filled chords. 

In a career that has spanned more than two decades, Marc Romboy is a mouthpiece for the facets of electronic music that can not be categorised. His collaboration with the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra for a London Boiler Room performance showcased the true talent of the German producer, and demonstrated that electronic music and classical composition are intrinsically linked. From producing six albums to running one of electronic music’s most successful labels, the release of 15 Yrs Systematic marks a career highlight that will be remembered and respected for years to come.

Belgium based Fabrice Lig is nothing else than a phenomenon of techno music. The list of high
profile imprints where he released his music, like Planet E, R&S, KMS, Third Ear and Playhouse is
unique.
More than a year has gone by after 'Purple Raw Vol. 2' was dropped on Systematic and since all
good things come in threes, it was only a matter of time until he would come up with his third
instalment.
The wait is finally over and Fabrice returns with a strong 'Purple Raw 3'
which has no other intention than making you dance through the night. This four-tracker starts with
a driving edit of 'Gravitational Voyage' by Joris Voorn and proceeds it´s journey with three tunes full
of raw percussions, bumping sounds and unpredictable arpeggio synthlines.

Exclusive Fiberroot 'Roccodrilo (Shall Ocin Remix)'

Clash Lion Records, run by Terr, Shall Ocin and Daniel Watts, is ready to release Fiberroot's EP 'Tierra'. The three tracker comes with two originals, 'Con Licencia Sibonei' and 'Roccodrillo', and Shall Ocin's majestic remix of the latter. The Argentinian DJ and producer, who has released on labels such as Bpitch Control, Ellum or Last Night On Earth, delivers a stomping techno take, which is built around twirling synth sounds with the potential of creating mental dance floor experiences. As Shall Ocin's take on 'Roccodrillo' proceeds the artist shifts his focus on sounds and exchanges the twirling synth with more calm synth chords giving the listener and dancer the opportunity to digest the aforementioned mental musical rollercoaster ride. 

Fiberroots's EP 'Tierra' will be released September 7th, 2018 on Clash Lion.

Prolific duo Pig & Dan land back on Cocoon Recordings, which is familiar territory having had their debut single released on Sven Väth's imprint in 2001. Here they deliver a pair of techno ballads in their 'Reset Your Bassline' EP, which features the driving, dreamy and emotive techno cut ‘Lost Another Angel’.

Dan describes the vision behind the melodic arrangement: “It’s all about hand played synth parts, twisted melodic riffs and a hypnotic yet groovy bassline.”

The 'Reset Your Bassline' EP is out November 30.

Mariano Mellino returns to his old amigos at Darkroom Dubs to immerse us in the dark art of murkery. Deep weaves of mystifying mist laced around the beats, a powerful sense of unknown; creepy, spine-tingling, tightly coiled in latent tension… ‘Murk’ more than lives up to its name and reminds us why Mariano keeps returning to Silicone Soul’s label.

It’s backed by the equally tense and evocative ‘Mubarak’. Another deep, driving narrative from the Argentinian producer, here the hypnosis can be found locked into the bulbous palpitating bass/kick arrangement while a chorus of ghostly pads harmonise in the background, just out of focus. Trippy, eerie, unhurried; this captures the essence of what Darkroom Dubs is truly all about.

There’s plenty more where this came from, too… Mariano’s single will be followed very soon by new material from the label bosses Silicone Soul themselves and new face to the label – but not to our sets – Kincaid. Stay tuned.

ArchAngel: What inspired me to produce the track is the state of euphoria i get when i imagine the sounds in my head. The punchy drums and bass with the oriental instruments and their melodies. And of course the vocals. Me and my brother have this passion for ethereal techno. The epic melodies and the dark vibe. We also have been raised in a certain type of music and heritage, and we found out that we can combine both of them we producer one of our first tracks ever „Your Absence“ as a free download and we had a great feedback on it.
