Diego Knows is a New York native, Co-Founder of Cut-Line Records, and a global ambassador of house music. Growing up immersed in New York City’s vibrant underground scene, Diego’s musical journey began after a life-changing experience at Pacha NYC. Late nights at the iconic club introduced him to pulsating techno, tribal drums, and electrifying electro sounds, igniting his passion for music and inspiring him to explore his creativity as an artist.

By his late teens, Diego was already producing tracks influenced by the sensory overload of NYC nightlife—the lights, the beats, and the deep connection of the dance floor. These formative experiences shaped a sound that seamlessly blends funk, disco, house, techno and minimal with the raw energy of the underground.

After a decade of refining his craft, Diego launched Cut-Line, making his debut at legendary venues like the Panther Room and The Roof at Output. What began as an event and artist management company is now evolving into a vinyl record label, set to launch in early 2025.

Diego later partnered with Sergio Santos to create FUNKY PEOPLE, a monthly party at TBA Brooklyn celebrated for its eclectic track selection and groovy vibe. Alongside Jeremy Ismael, the trio took FUNKY PEOPLE on the road, performing at top venues across New York City, the U.S., and Europe.

As a producer, Diego has released music with his lifelong friend Maják on renowned labels like Yoyaku, Decay, and Street King. Their collaborations showcase a seamless blend of groove-heavy rhythms and intricate production, earning them recognition in the global underground scene. Together, they have contributed to respected imprints such as Superfreq, Wildfamily, Staybad, Good Luck Penny, and Fine Mode, with their work consistently championed by DJs and tastemakers alike.

Whether behind the decks or on the dance floor, Diego is driven by the universal language of music. His mission is to create transformative moments that connect people, celebrating the energy and unity that only music can inspire. Shield is the owner and mastermind of Rebirth Records. With an ethos centered around the foundations of house music, Rebirth rapidly cultivated a reputation, refusing to conform, but creating its own unique sound; building a link between the ‘soul’ of a song and combining it with a contemporary modern sound ! Shield is also one half of NUfrequency, responsible for producing the breathtaking ‘Go That Deep’, featuring the amazing vocals of the legendary Shara Nelson. Signed to NRK in the Uk the single has been hailed as the ‘best soulful house tune of 2008’. And also ‘Fallen Hero’ featuring Ben Onono, which is the most charted tune ever on Resident Advisor. 
Shield has recently re-edited house classics from Frankie Knuckles, Lil’Louis, A Guy Called Gerald, Alison Limerick and Tony Ransom.  His collaborations with Robytek gave life to the singles ‘Pump It’ featuring Foremost Poets in 2009, the strong ‘Dowtntown Soul’ in 2011 and a take on Adeva’s gave classic ‘In and Out of My Life’ for the legendary Easy Street Recordings. In 2012 the release of ‘Way Of Life’ EP on Luciano’s amazing label Cadenza. Shield played gigs in Germany (Tresor and Salon Renate in Berlin), New York (Output), Paris (Djoon and Badaboum), Uk (The Egg, Ministry Of Sound and Turnmills in London), Ibiza (Pacha, Eden, Cafe’ Mambo and Cafe’ Del Mar), Miami (Nikki Beach, Shelbourne, Do Not Sit On The Furniture and Club Sin), Poland (Piekarnia and Utopia in Warsaw), Czech Republic (Radost and Duplex in Prague).
