MUDDY BODIES OSCILLATIONS

SPECTRAL SHOCK episode 6 is a double takeover and a blind date between Australian electronic media virtuoso Matt Warren, a long-time friend of mine, and Infinite Spirit Music, the maverick selector Lionel Lamadon.

Lamadon beckons you to an extraordinary soundsphere where spoken word, sound poetry, and industrial echoes collide in a deep, meditative dance. From Colapsoloxias in Spain to the grand finale at EP64/64 in the UK, Lamadon's fearless exploration knows little bounds, leaving an indelible mark on Bristol's experimental music nights.

Lamadon’s choice crackles, acousmatic hums, and snapping micro-rhythms forge a hyperreal ecology of insectoid swarms, unfolding with a deliberate pace and multi-layered hypnosis. His triple-deck collage is an agar plate of natural sounds, meticulously processed electronics and backboned by a tape from his friend Ogrob. Initially intended for recording bat frequencies, it quickly metamorphosed into a fertile field recording, capturing elusive hexapod ultrasonics, environmental elements, and more — showcasing the unpredictable beauty that arises from the convergence of avant contortions and the organic world.

Warren bridges into liminal terrain with his background in immersive electronic installations and border-crossing compositions. His artistic inquiry delves into the grey areas between memory and perception, aligning seamlessly with the esoteric realms of psychedelia, digital abstraction, and hauntology. Warren taps into the electro-acoustic, weaving drone spells and collaborating under various monikers and gracing global stages and residencies from Cologne with Damo Suzuki to Montreal with Voivod’s Thériault.

Warren’s mélange embodies the timeless power of sound to inspire and uplift the human spirit, commemorating significant anniversaries and paying homage to pioneering minds who have paved the way in the field of audio dramaturgy. Through a mosaic of recent, soon-to-be-released, and unreleased works, he weaves a lush and nuanced narrative, traversing the depths of his influences and personal context, where past and present converge in a sublime balance.

As you well know, electronic music is so amazing because it is capable of merging with any musical style. Apart from this, you are not subject to particular instruments, so it is not very complicated to evolve and open new paths. Among all the musical fusions and derivations that we have been able to hear in all these years there has always been one (I don't know if I should call it a genre) for which I have had a special weakness, Braindance. Anyone who is influenced by more acidic sounds, syncopated bass, funk drums and nostalgic pads will be deliciously grateful for this new album from FLUCTUOSA _ VODOR L ZECK. In my opinion they are masters in this style. While Fluctuosa honors a very original and refined composition that becomes addictive, Vodor makes use of the iconic 808/606/303 combo to develop delicious funky (sometimes Jazzy) tracks that transport us to the golden era of electronic music

Here we have 80 amazing minutes that we hope you all enjoy.

"This live is a collection of my winter-spring compositions. The general palette of this recording can be characterized as shadowy compositions of a heavier spectrum. Such emotions were experienced then, and they found their way out through sound waves. The sound is focused on bass and vocal experiments, astringent textures and field recordings, the environment and the inner, a lot of inner. A noise dance of the inner world on an ordinary everyday stage.
My compositions are always about the liberation of emotions; after recording, this tension has been gone and freed. I hope everyone will also be able to find in this work the points of the liberation of their emotions!"

Sasha, aka ssscreep, is a musician and DJ from Chernihiv, Ukraine, currently based in Warsaw. He navigates the realms of punk and experimental music with profound "metal" roots, deeply immersed in avant-garde atmospheres. In his performances, he utilizes field recordings of his surroundings, thereby altering the moment's perception under the intense pressure of vibrations. Raw, unfiltered sound evokes a kaleidoscope of emotions, weaving a tapestry of genuine authenticity.
As a member of the SUMISH collective and the host of the evocative show "Wheat and Blue Sky" on radio Gasoline - he constantly explores the culture and horizons of sound.
