Seven suites of deep and sprawling sonic meditations built around ‘call and response’ improv sessions between Randy Raine-Reusch and Michael Red.

Initially realized over the course of a few days in Randy’s instrument museum in Vancouver BC [December, 2014] 'ERAS' is made up of processed, and sometimes multi tracked, improvisations between Randy and Michael. Through these sessions Randy would choose instruments he sensed possibilities within, and Michael then revealed and sculpted these possibilities. Both resonating, sensing sonic structures, environmental nuances, and further worlds in each other’s art, all within the moment. Being present for each other, they acted on instinct, trusting a first thought, trusting each other; committing, responding to that commitment, then mutating and letting go. Always moving forward, synthesizing and letting the living moment lead the way.

"Drones are one of my hobbies. I have a double bass and a bow, and two years ago, I used to escape from anxiety with those sounds [...] In some time I bought a bass bayan (accordion), the same instrument as accordion but with basses on one side. And it was an additional portion of wonderful experiences. Then I produced a homemade soundtrack for a Dune that played in my home, in whatever tonality I wanted. Finally, I fell in love with this sound and began to understand the music that played at the concerts on Wednesday nights in the fall of that year. It occurred to me that I could play a drone concert with modular, which has such a dense textures. And then I remembered that I had promised to record live set @systemnapotvora [...] I assembled a basic setup for this task and produced this live rec in "one take". Now it looks like I will perform this live set [...] In the meantime, you can listen to my drone set for the Odesa-based @systemnapotvora. When I controlled the volumes I thought about Odesa and how great it would be to be there in the future, and I'm sure I'll be back there again someday." ~ @symonenkomusic

The sonic architecture of this live act is built on acoustic artifacts, found sounds, and liminal states of synthesis. A polyphony of field recordings gathered across various geographic and cultural contexts dissolves into a dynamic structure where textures, rhythmic microcycles, and resonant spectra interact between the material and the ephemeral.

The spontaneous organization of sound occurs at the intersection of granular sampling, nonlinear synthesis, and percussive reduction, creating an effect of continuous transformation. The sound field shifts from kinetic clusters to rarefied acoustic fragments, balancing between an objective audio document and a subjective perception of time.

Cortex Jammes - Tales of the Borderlands / systemnapotvora.live

A live jams collection of ritual psychedelic soundscapes that have absorbed the power, calm and silence of some Ukrainian sacred sites - Devil’s Rocks of Vynnyky forest, Ternoshory archaeo-astronomical complex, ancient cave monasteries of Bakota and Rozgirche, a lonely Buddhist temple on top of a Carpathian mountains, Trakhtemyriv peninsula etc. “The way this place makes you feel", that is, it contains a set of ambient sensations that allows you to feel the present moment of time in this place more deeply. Although it is impossible to explain in words, it is much easier to feel and hear.

The mood of the music is a warm, captivating darkness in which otherworldly and abstract sound objects move, greeting either the works of Rapoon or Rod Modell, or the 90’s ambient rave improvised jams of Ambient Temple of Imagination.

Ukrainian label Muscut celebrates its anniversary - Muscut X (10) Test Pressign II - is the tenth record in a row. The first release was published in 2012 on 7 inches and was called simply Test Pressing. Like six years ago, the current vinyl is a compilation of Muscut's “residents”, as well as  new friends of the label. Test Pressing II is 12 inches on which there are exactly ten tracks.
Both sides are significantly different in color of mood. Party A starts with dub-drone sketches of key figures of the Odessa underground - Wildstyle Crew and Bryozone. Then we hear the mantra-like  M2 - the work of the creative union of Nicola Ratti, Mads Emil Nielsen together with Nikolaenko. The Canadian sound-artist Mark Templeton continues the line of rhythmic textures crowned with unhurried percussion - it is in all senses of Soft Education at number four. The first part is completed by an exquisite curtsy from the Andrew Pekler label frequenter called Underwater Nocturne as a soundtrack for the perfect tea ceremony.
The second side confidently sets a completely different compilation rhythm from the very start - the tribal tribal dance from the Berlin project Native Instrument instantly introduces into a trance. It is followed by a warm, enveloping minimal synth track from the Ukrainian trio Nisantashi Primary School. The middle of the second side is decorated with the pensive house-ballad of St. Petersburg producer Fadeev known as AEM Rhythm Cascade. Another Russian settled next to him - Muscovite Oleg Buyanov, aka OL, with a massive broken dub Nutmeg. The final composition consists of burning afrosint motifs from luminary Odessan Vakula.
