Franka De Mille is a London singer, songwriter and composer. Her debut album ‘Bridge The Roads’  has already received critical acclaim and extensive airplay all over the world. 

Emotionally raw, original with sophisticated arrangements, Franka De Mille’s music has an elegant blend of americana, chamber music and alternative folk. Franka’s focus on strong melodies underline the powerful emotional charge of her unique voice and deeply personal lyrics.
Her deliberate use of violin, cello, accordion, mandolin and flute as ‘second voices’ add an awesome depth to her compositions. From the harrowing experience documented in ‘So Long’, to the mourning of her father in ‘Birds’ and the poignant confession to her sister in ‘Gare du Nord’, she bravely reveals her deepest emotions, and yet, through the messages of hope in ‘You’ll Never Know’ and ‘Come on’ her strength in adversity transcends toward the ultimate redemption song, ‘Bridge the Roads’.

Although she has been compared to Patti Smith, Tori Amos, Kate Bush and PJ Harvey, the only real comparison with them is a shared creative clarity in the expression of their music. Franka remains uncompromisingly herself, both musically and vocally.

She is the only independent artist to be selected for the British Phonographic Industry’s ‘Why Music Matters’ campaign (alongside Nina Simone, The Beatles, Kate Bush, Louie Armstrong, John Martyn, Nick Cave….) You can view the film about her here…


Her touring band features some of the best musicians from across Europe, led by musical director and guitarist Kevin Armstrong (who works with David Bowie, Brian Eno, Paul McCartney, Sinead O’Connor, Morrissey, Iggy Pop…and many more!) and features Antonia Pagulatos (Damon Albarn, Gorillaz, Tom jones, Bobby Womack, Ravi Shankar, Marianne Faithful, Lou Rhodes. ..)

How can electronic music be a soul music? The founder DJs of Pure Lust Daniel Santiago and Daniel Ban from Budapest, know exactly this. The secret of their success is to find a mixture of styles that blend downtempo, a little bit of rock, and more spirited folk motifs, on house and electronic basis. This mixture results in a deep yet dancefloor friendly sounds. The secret component is the appropriate proportion of styles. They always tell something through music and give a dynamic and fresh experience to the people. 

Their team involves 3 more local DJs and producers: Mirmur, Kristof Kelemen and Marcello Baptiste. Each of them represents Pure Lust's vision of music, all in an exciting way, including live or hybrid sets.

The team has been a guest of many international performers: 
Acid Pauli, Christian Löffler, Satori, Rampue, Stimming, NU, Parra For Cuva, Viken Arman, Hraach, Just Emma, Be Svendsen, Rodrigo Gallardo, MoM, Britta Arnold, Jacob Groening, Billy Caso, Zigan Aldi to mention a few.
They organise events in local infamous clubs, such as TOLDI, A38, PONTOON and play at many other venues and festivals, like O.Z.O.R.A, Kolorádó.

The guys continuously work or collaborate with local musicians, djs, artists, and collectives doing A&R and this became so important for them that they named the project "Hazai Nyitás", which is also a name for a monthly event series at TOLDI.

DARKSIDE is the collaborative duo of Dave Harrington and Nicolas Jaar.
