Big love stories often start by accident. In this case Mr. Szeretet Records aka Gré Maillard was searching new tracks for DJing and was very astounded when he heard that Acid Pauli's new Downtempo masterpiece "Seufzende Steine" (German for sighing stones) contains a sample (or is it a repeated self-played melody?) of the track "Constant Fear" by German Dark Jazz legends Bohren & Der Club Of Gore of whom Gré Maillard is a big fan for years. And so the idea of bringing these perfect matching tunes together was born, et voilà, another dream wedding has come true and waits for Downtempo DJs to be played in relaxed Slo-Mo sets. Yippie, another trip to Magyarország! This time our journey takes us to DzsinnKalaDzsi, a multi ethnic fusion world music band from Budapest whose members perform with a large variety of instruments and different styles of singing (even Mongolian throat singing due to their bio, wow!). Gré Maillard bumped into this wonderful music and found a nice medley of two Hungarian folk songs while doing some research to find material for Downtempo DJ sets and instantly felt the need to do a relaxed Slo-Mo-Edit of the beautiful well-known Hungarian song "Kis kece lányom", ideal for DJ journeys around the world. The wonderful guest singer is Józsi Bianka who was 10 years old when she was discovered by the band members during a rehearsal before a live koncert in 2018 and was asked if she could sing some Hungarian folk songs with them. And she did her job perfectly as you can hear! So let Gré Maillard's slow grooves, DzsinnKalaDzsi's traditional Hungarian music with world music instrumentation and Józsi Bianka's beautiful voice take control over your body and your soul! Sometimes everything is fucked up: war, pandemic. individual shit like lovesickness and so on. I had planned to release an uplifting and happy Downtempo track that I've already produced in January cause I've been looking so much forward to spring. But now there is war in Ukraine (Putin on his road to the Hague, hopefully) and I'm sick of corona the for the second time (happily an ultra mild course) and therefore in quarantine at home. My heart says that feels wrong to release such a glowingly track at the moment, so I produced another one that fits much more in my actual mood. It should be a hymn of letting our negative emotions go when we dance to the slow but heavy 4 to the floor groove. Ideal for whistling, humming, singing and shouting to the beautiful menancholic melody. And don't forget to donate for Ukrainian war refugees and so on instead of donating to me as long as this ugly war lasts. What comes in your mind when you think of Austrian accordion music? Yodeling? Alpine kitsch? The Sound Of Music? Attwenger, a well-known Upper Austrian two man show (accordion and drums), don't fulfill any Volksmusik cliché, they rather sound like Punk Rock, Hip/Trip Hop, even dubby techy... And many of their lyrics - always sung in Upper Austrian dialect) are harsh protest songs or funny word games in a dadaistic manner. Gré Maillard, born and raised in Upper Austria, is a big fan of Attwenger and did a slo-mo edit of one of their songs that rocks so bad with an awesome hypnotic Jew's harp alongside the usual accordion and percussion. Ladies and gentlemen, Szeretet Records proudly presents it's 50th release, and it's a very special one. 31 years ago, in 1991, Viennese DJ legend Makossa (head of the music department of Austrian alternative radio station FM4 since 1995, DJ of the legendary DJ show Swound Sound since 1992, part of the international successful electronic music producer duo Makossa & Megablast) made his first track together with Arno Sturmer (DJ at Soul Sugar, a former well-known Viennese event series for all kinds of soulful black music) with the production help of Peter Kruder, called - of course - First Experience. This funky breakbeat oldschool Downtempo track was released as part of the compilation "Danube Dance" on the legendary Viennese label GiG Records (with an amazing artist roster which contains for example Falco or Club 69).

And because this year (2022) we celebrated the 30th anniversary of Swound Sound, the best DJ and MC show in the entire universe (and broadcasted by the best radio station in the entire universe since 1995) and Gré Maillard is one of the regular guest DJ in the meantime, he had the idea to do an contemporary Downtempo edit of this timeless classic which is one year older than his favourite radio show with his heros of his youth in the - sorry to say - boring countryside of Upper Austria where Gregor was born and raised.

Here it is: Stimmhorn is a Swiss group who's yodeling, singing strange syllables accompanied with accordion, brass instruments and so on. All in a artsy-fartsy non traditional manner, and that's damn cool! So cool that well known German Electropunk/Hiphop band Deichkind sampled some crazy yodeling from Stimmhorn's song "Triohatala" for their satirical song "In Der Natur" (German for "outdoors") which is about urban people that glorify rural life but aren't fit for it (because it isn't only sunshine). Gré Maillard had a strong earworm which only could be treated by making an edit of Triohatala for slo-mo yodel ecstasy in Downtempo DJ sets. Enjoy!! ❤️❤️❤️

A few years ago Gré Maillard discovered the well-known Serbian musician Vlada Divljan who founded the Yugoslav New Wave era in the eighties with his famous band Idoli and died unfortunately way too early after a few years suffering from cancer in his lately chosen hometown Vienna. While listening to Austria's alternative radio station FM4, Gré heard an electronic track from Vlada Divljan's Viennese side-project Die Tonzentrale named "Meine Stadt" (my town) and wanted to know more about it. And so he found the beautiful and melancholic original song "Moj Grad" (my town) which contains sad lyrics in Serbian language. And now, totally fallen in love with another love song of Vlada named "Noćas Tražim" (feat. The Old Stars Band, the title means "tonight I need" in English and the song is about the singer's need for warm words and love of his beloved one), Gré made a slo-mo housey edit out of it, right on time before Vlada's 5th death anniversary. This happens on the 5th of March, 2020. And this is also the release date of the 17th release of Szeretet Records. Enjoy loads of ljubav!!! <3 <3 <3
