The fifth Stately Podcast is here and what a trip it is. 

We are delighted to welcome Alessandro Crimi in the Stately family, both as producer on our label, and as a selector providing, us a 2,5 hour DJ set for our podcast series. When we asked Alessandro to be part of the series we already expected it to be of stellar quality but even that was a little too modest. The mix consists of hidden gems, old vinyl releases and even some previously unreleased works from a Japanese CD compilation, all packed together as a extended selection of sunny tunes, right on time for the beginning of your spring season.

Stately Podcast 05 - Alessandro Crimi

Get ready for some serious DEEPNESS. Based in the city of St. Gallen, high up amid the Alps of eastern Switzerland, Austrian-born Alessandro Crimi delivers a 1-hour transmission of the kind of techno you'd imagine more likely to have eminated from somewhere in the depths of the Mariana Trench in an all-vinyl mix of exquisite taste.

With his distinctive sound of dub-infused house and techno that is rich in spacey pads, echoey chords, sinuous melodic structures and discerning beats, he is often found skirting along the territorial borders of quintessential Dub Techno stylings. Alessandro has made a name for himself with his strong productions and remixes and also his gigs at prestigious venues including: Harry Klein Club in Munich; Club Home in Amsterdam; Rohstofflager in Zurich and Macarena Club in Barcelona, to name a few. He is hailed as a true specialist for playing warm-up sets, which requires a delicate touch and a good mind for developing a pathway through records to build the energy levels steadily.

Last year Alessandro set up vinyl label Waehlscheibe, that along with the help of his friends he has now driven to the cusp of it's 4th release - we have heard the samples and are sure it will make some big waves! A child of the London acid-house explosion, British-born DJ and producer Dave Angel has been responsible for an astonishing amount of music over the years. Dave's journey, since his first foray in production with his 'Nightmare Remix' of Eurythmics' 'Sweet Dreams', has been an enviable one. The son of a jazz musician, Angel's roots are in bebop and modern jazz as much as in the Detroit-styled techno he has famously helped to pioneer.

His back catalogue is littered with singles, EPs and remixes on some of music’s most esteemed record labels that include Polydor/Love, OuterRythm, Fnac, React Records, Island, R+S and Outrage imprints, and now he finds himself launching a new chapter in his career, releasing tracks on Bedrock and Crosstown Rebels.Responsible for the formation of one of the scene's most important imprints, Rotation Records, not only served as a platform for Dave's own exquisite work but was paramount to the beginnings of many careers: Adam Beyer, Christian Smith, Deetron, Vince Watson, Laidback Luke, The Advent, Jamie Anderson, Bryan Zentz, Steve Rachmad and Misstress Barbara amongst many, all cut their earliest grooves on the label and each helped to define Rotation as both a purveyor for new sounds and new talent.

Now, his sights are set on the future, busily crafting a slew of cuts that are set to take this year by storm. And in a very special treat, Dave Angel has mixed the very first Balance Selections podcast for 2015.

t's time to FEED THE RAVER! I'm happy to present a guest that I wanted to have on the show for a while. Alessandro Crimi (born February 25th, 1983 in Feldkirch, Austria) is an electronic music producer, DJ and record collector based in Switzerland. Music always has been his big passion. It all started very early when he found some real gems in his parents’ record collection from the likes of Kraftwerk, Pink Floyd, Pet Shop Boys or Depeche Mode which he really loved.
He is known for his deep and Dub influenced DJ sets, and many people say that he is a true specialist for playing warm ups.
Alessandro showed his mixing skills at the Harry Klein Club (Munich), Club Home (Amsterdam), Rohstofflager (Zurich) and Hive (Zurich), just to name a few. His style can not only be described as deep and dubby, he is also producing and playing all kinds of House music, Detroit influenced Techno and Electro, Ambient and sometimes also Hip Hop.
His own music has been released on various vinyl and digital labels like Sthlmaudio, Italic, Broque and many others.
In 2012 he has started the vinyl label 'Waehlscheibe' which he is running together with his friends.
