I met @heizhima through local icons Anuraag and Kate and turns out their music is just as amazing as they are <3 They are an incredible multidisciplinary sound artist and have such a talent for crafting the most immersive and explorative soundscapes and you can hear that in this mix where they traverse thru ambient, trip hop, cloud rap, hyper pop and more. 芝麻 (Zhī ma) (they/she) is a multidisciplinary sound artist, producer and DJ based on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country. Their work spans DJ mixes and community radio, sound production in videos, art-sound, and art-poetry collaborations, and performing as a DJ for club nights and art installations. Central to their arts practise is building community, knowledge and skill sharing, and using art as a way to explore aspects of identity.

Marked by asynchronous rhythms, explosive walls of noise, blown out vocals and moments of ecstatic reprise - this set is a beautiful exercise in orchestrated chaos.

Framework presents the fourth edition of TOWER Imports, a limited mix series designed to incorporate international artists into New York's TOWER project.

This entry comes from Eastern Distributor, the stage name of Naarm-based artist Daniel Jakobsson, a versatile creator pushing the boundaries of electronic music.

Eastern Distributor focuses on a rich tapestry of deep, syncopated basslines and minimalist, crisp percussion. Tracks unfold with ambient, evolving soundscapes that create an atmospheric backdrop, inviting exploration and introspection within its rhythmic foundation. 

"I'm so excited to be sharing this mix for the Framework/TOWER series. I love the concept, this particular mix is inspired by the glass component in the construction of the tower. I leant toward choosing dynamically wide tracks; low end and layered high frequency percussion. One and a half hours of shifting between experimental, dubstep, liquid and plenty of tek. Thanks to Patty for the invite, hope you enjoy 💕"

Our next recording is from Naarm based artist & @manifestation-fm member, @hennessysean. Known colloquially as one of the most obsessive and avid listeners (and bandcamp lurkers) in our scene, today his expert ear goes full-circle. 

As it progresses this recording loops inwards and inwards, its story pieced together from uncanny moments of return. Old truths play out in their repetition, are we stuck in the same place or spiralling inward?
