The artist...

Emmanuel combines work as composer, artistic director and creator of artistic digital experiences. He currently serves as Head of Creative Development for the FeelBeit culture house and as the curator of the creative resident program at the ZEISS Innovation hub at KIT.

He has created artistic collaborations with partners such as Ensemble Modern, Frankfurt; IRCAM; Google; The Guggenheim; The Alvin Ailey Dance Company; Enjoy Jazz Festival; The Future en Seine Festival; The Matadero; The Jewish Culture Festival, Krakow, The Jewish Museum, Berlin; The Pacific North Western Ballet; The ZKM and ZEISS amongst others.

He has performed as violist with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra in NYC, The Berlin Staatskapelle, Ensemble Intercontemporain amongst others. He has recorded for Deutsche Grammophon under Pierre Boulez with Ensemble Intercontemporain.

He is a consultant and lecturer on such topics as - transformation processes in the arts and strategic business development in the arts in the 21st century.

Jean-Luc Godard’s past rests in thousands of cardboard boxes. The filmmaker has incorporated his entire personal archive to an inconspicuous place in France that hides numerous film rolls, personal belongings and reel to reel sound tapes. In 2014 Soundwalk Collective received access to this archive and now offers a Godard acoustic behind the scenes: in meticulous detailed work, the trio’s extracted recordings from before and after Godard’s film takes. Stage directions, the atmosphere on the set, false starts and new attempts to show the universe of a perfectionist and phantasmagoric personality. “Art attracts us only by what it reveals of our most secret self.” (Godard)

“Son Seul - JLG Joue Du Piano” is part of "What We Leave Behind": a work-in-progress album composed solely of unreleased fragments of sound that were recorded on the film sets of Jean-Luc Godard, and never saw the light of day. The sound composition shows us the very real and somewhat forgotten audiovisual archive of the film director, rediscovered by accident somewhere in France.

I’ve only discovered Kryshe a few months ago when I stumbled upon his Insights album, released on Unperceived Records. The record was a surprising delight, leaving me slightly bewildered as to the origin of Christian Grothe‘s music. I immediately fell in love with Grothe’s intricately detailed passages and recommended the album to all the fans of modern classical and cinematic works alike. So it was even a bigger astonishment (but, of course, justified in its own terms) that I received the news on Kryshe’s yet another upcoming release, this time on the beloved Serein, where it undoubtedly belongs. Today, Headphone Commute is premiering a title track off of this album, titled March Of The Mysterious.

As the days shorten, and the leaves fall, we are pleased to bring you this most appropriately seasonal release from Italian based musician, Francis M. Gri, entitled “Decays”. At times sounding like the soundtrack to a moody, somber Tarkovsky film, Gri has captured the din of the clatter and clang of life as it grows, and then rises in an uplifting anthemic glory to all that man has made, and unmade.
