Groove Daniel is a DJ & live act originally from Italy, but now based in Berlin, owner of Lounge Squatt & member of Berlin Invasion collective. We are over the moon to finally guest our old friend and legend Chris Liberator on our podcast series. Chris needs little introduction really. At part from being one of the most skilled vinyl DJs around and excellent producer with tons of great releases on cult labels, included our sister label Polymeric, he is also a great multi-instrumentalist, having played in several punk bands in his heydays, and still doing so today! At part from this, he is one of the best persons in the scene, with his anti-establishment attitude, and down to earth friendly approach. Chris started djing back in 1991 playing his first ever party in a squat in North London (organised with the fledgling Liberator crew featuring himself, Julian and Aaron). Liberator soon made a name for themselves putting on parties in and around North East London in squats and underground venues, and it wasn’t long before they began hooking up with other crews doing similar stuff including Bedlam, Full On, Zero Gravity and Megadog who they all played regularly for with their firebrand mix of Acid, hard Techno and Rave. Getting involved with the illegal raves kicking off in the UK at the time (including Lechlade and Castle Morton) via their numerous traveller connections saw them hook up with crews out in Europe from Prague and Holland and they began travelling internationally as well. In 1993 they began their label Stay Up Forever to represent their own unique style, and as it progressed and they met more producers like DDR, D.A.V.E. The Drummer, Gizelle, Geezer and Lawrie Immersion, the sound of London Techno and Acid Techno as we know it was born.

Chris went on to start the SUF Collective (which he runs with Aaron Liberator) and began DJing across the world including places as far flung as Brazil, Venezuela, Japan, South Africa and Australia, and his name quickly became synonymous with the sound of the London Techno he represented. Meanwhile he continued to support his roots playing thousands of squat parties and underground raves in London, UK and Europe, keeping it firmly ‘real’ despite making DJ mag’s top 100 dj list on several occasions and producing some of the era’s most popular Acd Techno mix cds.

DoctA Hipnoto is a Polish, Dj/Producer/Live performer/electronic music collector. His adventure with black discs started in 2008 in Spain, where he lived. He fell in love with music, he started with break-beats, but quickly fell in love with Techno. Apart from DJ-ing another interest in music came to His attention: music production and live acts on synths, effects, tape, samplers and controllers… All this to be able to even better describe the world without words and this is still the case today!

Hard Bart is originally from Poland from where he moved over to UK (London) in 1998. That’s where his passion for turntables and techno music kicked in properly. So he got on the decks, and in almost no time at all he was rocking some serious London sound systems such as : Manik , Malfaiteurs , Fu.Q , Solid, to name just a few and he was also one of the few DJs who originally started the now legendary Every1Sound.

His name started to appear next to those big names in London’s underground Techno scene (without naming as everyone knows who they are) and he could be frequently seen in some of the best clubs too, including Mass, The Fridge, George IV, 414, Purple Turtle, Dukes (even once at Heaven in Leicester Square!)

Around 2007 he went to live in Spain for few years, and he was a regular DJ at Astral TECH parties, and in clubs and technivals in Granada, Sevilla, Malaga, and Almeria.

Recently he got involved in music production too and he has released a couple of tracks on labels Generator UK (digital) and Polymeric Records (12” vinyl),
Undelivered Records (digital)and he's got many more projects on the way, to be released in the near future both on vinyl and digital. So watch out because this talented DJ is technically very skilled, and it turns out to be quite a banging producer too!

Illusions of Power is about political corruption, the collapse and seizure of control, sparring nations, war, drugs, gangs and the fraudulent, media systems that spin it all into rolling, fear-mongering 24 hour loops. Illusions of Power is about the horrors of the modern world and a humanity haunted by its bloodied past. But as every long dark tunnel comes to an end, Illusions of Power too has its glimmers of hope.

Written with an arsenal of hardware gear from the Londoner’s studio in Berlin, Dax J’s Electric Deluxe debut is a militant, yet atmospherical dancefloor assault. As he has proven over a slew of EPs for EarToGround Records and labels like LDNWHT, Deeply Rooted, Clergy and his own Monnom Black label, his sound is a compelling and thoroughly contemporary one. Dax J’s productions are typically mercurial, informed by the past and fortified with a wide range of influences from acid and ambient, to jungle and drum & bass. His EPs are rich, kaleidoscopic ventures involving an array of tempos and moods, and Illusions of Power is no different.

In “Reign Of Terror” and “Harry The Hatchet” on the A-side, and “Zulu Nation” and “The Quest” on the flip, Dax J flexes sinewy techno muscle in his rave-inciting idiom where the new and the oldschool collide. Then in the angst-ridden “Cartagena Square” (built around field recordings from Cartagena in South America) and dreamy breakbeats of “Breaking Visions” Illusions of Power present two very different diversions from the dance. In one there is light and a sense of relief; in the other, shadowy omens of the world are massing. The future is full of promise, but be on your guard.

Martin Gruen, born on the 13th of February 1990, starts to hear electronic music in the year of 2006, one year later he beganns to mix his favorite Music.
The first artists with many influence in his style was the old minus music like gaiser or heartthrob. After one year he developed his own style in 2007 martin gruens music would be darker and harder, he recorded his first sets by example the se
t with the best feedback (Martin Gruen Spezial presents Spooky MInimal).
At the same time he beganns to produce her own music, he release his first EP the "BEAL EP" Felix Lorusso and Ira&I release this track by the Label Cirque du Minimaliste" . He begins to release more music on different Labes like "Der Hut" or "Machine Box". In the year of 2011 Martin Gruens style would be more to Techno or especially Dark Techno he begins to play many gigs any weekend and release more Podcasts. He plays many gigs in different clubs or Open Airs in Hamburg, for example by Plastik or Reclaim it all. The importantly settings to make music is to stay underground and make music for the people and not for commercial purposes.
This way he pursues till this day.

Now in its second decade, with a steady stream of the most forward thinking and cutting edge techno productions, Drumcode has one of the biggest selections of releases from industry heavy hitters, whilst not forgetting its future by bringing the newest talented producers into the limelight, where Layton Giordani is now a name firmly within that line up.

The New York born, but now EU based producer first had recognition back in 2014, and his debut release came via Drumcode with his track “Rivington” on the A-Sides Vol5 compilation in 2016.

Full force into 2017, Drumcode has announced the release of Layton’s debut album with “Where It Begins” this February. Consisting of 12 original tracks, the album packs a punch when it comes to no-nonsense techno. Bereits seit fast zwanzig Jahren produziert Normen Flaskamp selbst Musik. Im Jahr 2006 starte er unter dem Alias Solee als DJ und Produzent und seit nun gut vier Jahren performt er zudem auch als Liveact. Mit der Gründung seines Labels Parquet Recordings wurde ihm das Glück zu Teil, eine eigenen Spielwiese für seine Musik und seinen enormen Output zu besitzen. Schon sein erstes Release wurde ein Hit und schaffte auf Anhieb den Sprung in die Beatport-Charts. Inzwischen hat Parquet weit über 150 Releases veröffentlicht und gibt dabei auch Newcomern immer wieder die Chance sich zu präsentieren. 

Wir freuen uns sehr, dass Solee die neuste Ausgabe der Jeden Tag ein Set-Podcastreihe zusammengestellt hat. Als kleinen Bonus sind im Set auch zwei bisher unveröffentlichte Tracks versteckt. Viel Spaß mit einer Stunde melodischem Techno von dem Mann aus Stuttgart!

José Miguel Efigénio Da Silva aka DJ Ze MigL is first and foremost a DJ, secondly a producer, creating crazy, funky and sometimes brutal techno mayhem, and thirdly ………..…….. He’s a dude!
Residentially from Portugal, he has arguably been the most internationally known Portuguese techno producer during the last 20 years, and one of Portugal’s Techno Originators, whose underground activities have been recognized across the globe.
Although known mainly for his countless releases, it is as a DJ that his name and skills speak louder, bagging bookings everywhere.

He plays with relentless skill easily manipulating three decks, breaking down and reassembling tracks, basically remixing on the spot.
Producing from around 94-95, he’s extremely critical and overly analytical regarding his output, focusing solely on the groove and sounds, sequencing his trax with absolutely no compromise.
This has led to him having many outstanding releases over the years on the most impressive of labels including Djax-Up-Beats, Holzplatten & Minimalistix.
Creating his own special brand of honkin’ techno, not changing a single cowbell.
