Buzzards are formidable raptors (birds of prey), and are an impressive sight soaring over grasslands and woods. They’re ferocious, opportunistic hunters. Everything from small mammals, to reptiles, to earthworms are on the menu and they keep whole ecosystems in order by regulating populations of voracious plant-eaters like rabbits and squirrels. They play an important role in maintaining ecological balance and so are protected against harm by law in many places. Despite this, habitat loss, accidental poisonings and illegal persecution by gamekeepers are still concerns for these smooth raptors. We need to keep them flying so our environment can flourish. Every contribution helps and that is why we donate all proceeds to World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
