Kid Enigma and Ed Nine, two Chicago natives, collaborate on the ‘Provide’ single for Street Tracks, and turn in a couple of deluxe deep house groovers.

Both raised on a diet of NYC and Chicago house, Kid Enigma has gone on to release his productions on European labels such as Defected, Hot Creations and Robsoul Recordings, whilst Ed Nine’s tracks have found favour with US labels like King Street, Panhandle and Nite Grooves.

Lead track, ‘Provide’, contains many of the classic house music tropes that still make it the endearing genre it is; its vocal refrain is backed with a swinging drum pattern, filtered chord stabs and soaring strings for an uplifting foot shuffler.  Jazz influences are revealed on ‘Floss’, with breezy pads and shuffling beats escorting in a sumptuous bassline for a truly deep slice of house music.

After the leg-sweeping success of last year's 'Smile When The Sun Is Shining' - which received support most notably from Disclosure and The Blessed Madonna. LEGATO returns to Eton Messy Records, with the tender and mesmeric House stylings of 'It Was You, It Was Always You'.

The first instalment of a brand new 2 track EP - due out in its entirety this April - sees LEGATO meld incisive, swing-infused percussion; gentle, soporific keys; and ghostly vocals - that swoop and fade throughout - to craft this ultra-elegant and entrancing new record; one that doubles-up nicely as a bold, 2021 opening gambit from EMR.

On the EP, LEGATO explains: “I wanted it to reflect a lucid dream, I played around with a bunch of hazy, ethereal sounds both synthetic and from the real world, paying super close attention to texture, mood, arrangement and dynamics – really loved putting this one together.”
