This set was recorded on a night that felt like one of the best musical experiences in my life.. Back to back with SanDro, my Croatian soulmate ever since we met during a set of Hernan Cattaneo in Antwerp.  SanDro took us to this stunning location somewhere lost in the Adriatic sea in Croatia. We set up our gear (after carrying it all ourselves over the mountains 😅)and just started playing.  The vibe was amazing, the energy of the people dancing touched my soul deeply.  I will always be grateful for the symbiosis that we could share behind the decks that evening. A big thank you to all of those who created the magic with us  ❤️🙏

Vigil es el proyecto de DJ de Tyler Vigil, un DJ estadounidense originario de Texas y residente de Nueva York desde hace mucho tiempo. Vigil irrumpió en la escena de Nueva York como la mitad del dúo de DJ #whiteowljaguar. Si bien ese proyecto estuvo fuertemente influenciado por el minimal house + techno y la escena electrónica rumana, Vigil ha experimentado nuevas exploraciones sonoras el año pasado. Emprendió un viaje musical para expandir sus horizontes sonoros, y actualmente está tratando de capturar sonidos, ritmos y melodías del mundo en sets con más eclecticismo y musicalidad pero siempre tratando de mantener la esencia dance de la música House y Techno.  

Para TM012, Vigil expresa diferentes emociones y sensaciones derivadas de un episodio de Covid-19 que tuvo los días en que grabó la mezcla. Y así creó una metáfora musical con tonos oscuros pero con una resolución luminosa que lleva a los oyentes desde las sombras hasta lo alto de las nubes. Varios géneros como house, minimal house y techno se escuchan en sus formas puras, pero poco a poco esos sonidos maduran en texturas únicas y novedosas.

Vigil is the DJ project of Tyler Vigil, an American DJ originally from Texas and a long-time New York resident. Vigil broke into the New York scene as one half of the DJ duo #whiteowljaguar. While that project was strongly influenced by minimal house + techno and the Romanian electronic scene, Vigil has undergone new sound explorations in the past year. He undertook a musical journey to expand his sonic horizons, and is currently trying to capture sounds, rhythms and melodies of the world in DJ sets with more eclecticism and musicality but always trying to maintain the dance essence of House and Techno music.

For TM012, Vigil expresses different emotions and sensations derived from an episode of Covid-19 that he had the days when he recorded the mix. And he thus created a musical metaphor with dark tones but with a luminous resolution that takes listeners from the shadows to the top of the clouds. Various genres such as house, minimal house and techno are heard in their pure forms, but little by little those sounds mature into unique and novel textures.

𓂀  Meet up-and-coming DJ and soon to be producer @Redfreya from London, UK. Redfreya has been building momentum in the London deep house/tech scene over the last couple of years, holding a monthly residency on @BloopLondon radio with her 'Urban Soundscapes' show.

𓂀 Her music is nostalgic, emotional and full of atmosphere; presenting a fusion between dreamy melancholic sounds and percussive minimal grooves, you will always find a story and a journey to be taken in her mixes. Redfreya is in her early days as a music producer, but with professional Jazz musicians on both sides of her family, creativity runs in the blood, and she is surely one to watch for the future.

@Opole is an electronic band based in Cologne, Germany, consisting of Frank Schöpgens and Jez Nicholl. Frank and Jez live in the same neighbourhood and met in a local café. After discovering that they were both musicians, they decided to arrange a jam together.
 
They now share a well-equipped studio, where Frank plays guitar and effects pedals, and Jez plays drum machines, samplers and synthesisers. They have a flexible set-up where they can jam out ideas as well as fine-tune their complex productions.
 
Their inspiration is wide, reflecting their varied lives. Frank was born in Germany and spent time living in Barcelona and Paris. Jez is from the UK and moved to Cologne in 2011. They both listened to guitar-based indie music in their teens, and shortly afterwards discovered electronic music in the clubs of Europe. Their ears and minds have always been open to new experiences, which can clearly be heard in their music today.

The Gilded not Golden EP offers a glimpse into the creative world of Frank and Jez. Deep harmonic drones, shimmering synthesisers and melodic guitars complement each other, building detailed landscapes of sound with beautiful textures. The skilfully crafted songs are relaxing yet danceable and envelop you in warm darkness.
 
Opole’s music would be perfect for a relaxing journey through space.
