Almost exactly three years after NR&, a project uniting &ME’s and Rampa’s production with the voice of New York Disco-House-siren Nomi, dropped their debut EP, we finally can announce a new chapter in this ongoing transatlantic menage. This very “Spoken For” EP is comprised of two new tracks, that again fuse songwriting with floor-demands and showcase the same crackling and pulse quickening passion that instantly has become NR&’s trademark. So here’s the evidence – a long distance relationship is not necessarily doomed to get boring after a while.

“Taste Like” on A might be conceived as the club-affair of those two new joints. A tune indulging in self-control, extending the pre- eruptive moment of excitement to track length. There is Nomi’s unmistakeable sexed up oration, flanked by an affirmative thunderstorm of claps, then a bass heavy bridge, overflowing into a noise brushed finale. Altogether a tasty flavour carrier for an effective floor heating.
“Spoken For” is not only the title track, but also the hymn coming out of the flipside ambush. There is no kick necessary to underpin what Nomi’s charismatic croon is laying down. Therefore a wise choice to let the arrangement of interspersed field recordings, percussive details and piano- and synth-decoration exercise in unobtrusiveness. Safe to say, this tune will refine many future peaktimes anyway.

Recently appearing on the mighty Crosstown Rebels with a remix of Shaun J. Wright & Alinka ‘Face The Truth’, sought after duo Audiojack are back serving up a solid two track release in the form of ‘Turya’.
 
'Turya' is built for serious heads down sessions fusing subtle acid pads with soaring synths and sonorous spoken words. On the flip 'Event Horizon' sits on a low slung groove as hypnotic keys fade in and out of play. 

“The idea for ‘Turya’ came from doing a guided meditation.’ Richard of the Audiojack duo explains. ‘We wanted to explore whether the hypnotic quality of the teacher’s words could work on the dance floor, allowing people to lose themselves in them and it’s evolving groove. Seeing people dancing with their heads down and eyes closed is the perfect complement to this track. ‘Event Horizon’ is a different beast altogether. It came from us experimenting with a heavy drum and bass vibe, a four-four format, and a classic "amen" break beat style.”
 
In 2015 Audiojack launched their Sunday Social free party at Veto club in their home of Ibiza, which after a strong season will continue this year. Their first Essential Mix recently dropped on Radio 1 and a string of highly successful releases and remixes on labels such as Hot Creations, Tsuba, 20/20 Vision and their own Gruuv have solidified their place in the dance music elite. It’s safe to say that 2016 is proving to be a big year for the talented duo.

Following their debut live performance at Rainbow Serpent Festival under the new alias Eyssenah earlier this year, here we see Shlømo and AWB combine to reveal the project’s debut release, compiled of five tracks that span intelligent, ambient sound design through to driving, precise techno cuts.
‘Capsule’ opens the package in spellbinding fashion as the duo expertly weave together a web of rich textures, ethereal atmospherics and mesmerising soundscapes, before the dynamic ‘Dabla’ marches forth, armed with sharp hats, crisp claps and snaking synth lines to reveal a high octane, rolling groove aimed at the peak time.
On the flip, title cut ‘Stardust Breaker’ keeps the pressure high, as electro tinged lead lines and weighty kicks collide with ever evolving, raw melodies, whilst ‘Ghost Kamikaze Attack’ sees the pairing lay the focus on slick broken beat arrangements accented by warped vocal licks and hypnotic synths. To conclude, the aesthetic is once again shifted as the warping ‘Saike’ introduces off kilter glitches and wicked bass licks amongst resonant vocal shots and blissful, almost nostalgic melodies, concluding an impressive debut offering from the project and yet another stand out release under the Taapion catalogue.

On the July 1st, Blocaus series will release 'Era Novum', 15 tracks compilation featuring Adriana Lopez, AWB, Blue Hour, Burden, Clotur, Espen Lauritzen, Function, Javier Bähr, Keikari, Landwehr & Fleer, Oscar Mulero, Peter Van Hoesen, Surgeon, Thomas Hessler, Vith. A long list of artists that contribute to our scene, familiar names including rising talents and true techno legends. Era Novum’s sound oscillates between of variety of styles, a wide musical spectrum varying from ambient, deep, hypnotic to raw straightforward techno tracks. 15 transcendent and effective cuts with a different approach in mind making this compilation a truly musical experience. Era Novum, a latin name meant new area after the chaos wrought by the coronavirus pandemic, we are on the cusp of a new era. All profits will be donated to UNICEF France who protect and support children and families affected by COVID-19. Blocaus series is planning to continue with this project, each compilation will promote new talents with the contribution of etablished artists, and also raise fund and awareness for a cause.
