Taapion Records co-founder PVNV returns to his label with five atmospheric cuts this September.
The Taapion Records discography, which now boasts a credible roster spanning Roman Poncet, Antigone, Francois X, Bambounou and more, has been oscillating between Techno, Ambient and Electronica since its launch in 2013. Following on from a collaborative release between the label’s other two co-founders Shlømo and AWB, PVNV now presents a five-tracker exemplary of the label’s extraordinary aesthetic.
Built on an intricate rhythm, ‘Library’ features a medley of obscure elements that operate together to generate an increasing rise in tension, whilst ‘Unknown Process’ is more robust in comparison with its raw kicks and serene chords. The next two tracks are practically beatless with the scintillating sounds of ‘SAVE’ up first, making way for the subtle drums of ‘Default’ that are combined with mesmerising vocal samples to join layers of sweeping synths. Meandering forward with syncopated percussion, ‘Auss’ then concludes matters in a spellbinding finale.
PVNV ‘SAVE.RESET EP’ is out on Taapion Records on 8th September 2017.
