Ka Andres is Plagpul's tribute to the sesquicentennial birth anniversary of Andres Bonifacio, the great proletarian revolutionary leader who led the Filipinos' revolt against the Spanish Colonizers in 1896. 

This song stresses that Bonifacio's fight for national democracy is not yet over, and that the Filipino people still have the responsibility to pick up Ka Andres' bolo/pistol in the continuing struggles against imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucrat capitalism.
