“Viral Animal”

What comes to mind when putting these two words together? 

Viral: Becoming very popular by circulating quickly from person to person.

Animal: Any such living thing other than a human being. 

The combination gives a vision of something fierce and unstoppable.  What a perfect concept when referring to the musical innovation and creativity of Damar “D Powers” Howard and Charlie “Rokman” Rhodes.

Already a respected solo musician in his hometown of Austin, D Powers has been using multiple outlets to promote and diversify the thriving Austin music scene for several years. Rockman started his career in New Jersey, and at an early age began working with the likes of R. Kelly and the legendary Al Green. Both D and Rok are accomplished songwriters, players and performers. 

Fast forward to a random meeting at Guitar Center in Nashville, TN. The infectious swagger of D and the brilliant pop sensibilities of Rokman collided, and the duo quickly began writing and recording. Incorporating street-smart lyrics with a solid musical foundation, the invigorating sound combines EDM (Electronic Dance Music), Hip-Hop and Trap Pop to form ground-breaking music that stimulates a party center in the listener’s brain. Viral Animal was born. 

The pair also act as a production team. All the production, instrumentation and sounds incorporated in the project were created by Rok and D themselves. Each has a diverse songwriting and production background different not only from one another, but from the Viral Animal project as well. 

Viral Animal's art, however, is not just music. It’s a lifestyle brand. The team has partnered with world-renowned fashion designer Johnathan Kayne to launch a line of clothing and accessories available later this year. They also have the vision of literally sharing their music with the masses. Through Brand Ur Band, the viral marketing and social media company D Powers founded, the team intends to revolutionize the way independent artists promote, interact and thrive.

Simply put, the art Viral Animal is creating stands alone. The lifestyle they promote is fun. And the way they prosper will change the way other independent musicians do things… forever.

Willie Jeffries, a longtime veteran of the Louisville music scene has been performing and recording regularly in the Louisville region and across the country including extensive east coast touring since the early 1990’s in support of original releases.

Willie is an accomplished songwriter and multi-instrumentalist but considers his voice his first instrument. Willie’s appreciation for music and drive for musical perfection represents a culmination of Willie’s life experiences that that took him from coast to coast.
