En la ciudad de Monterrey, donde la música del acordeón es inseparable de la tradición, surgió en 1978 un grupo, que con su música buscaba la oportunidad de darse a conocer, fue así que pidieron la ayuda de una estación de radio, la XETKR, para que fuera el público quienes les pusiera el nombre, la promoción se lanzó… se buscaba nombre para un grupo “fantasma” y el ganador tendría una serenata de esa agrupación, así iniciaron LOS INVASORES DE NUEVO LEON.
