I'm thrilled to announce the release of my next EP 'In The Company of Others' on GLITTER COWBOY!

I made this EP at a pivotal moment in my life; during deciding whether to stay in LA or move back to Europe. Unsure about how to proceed, I'd made these two tracks and named them in memory of my nearest big cross streets for the past year; 'Ventura' and 'Laurel Canyon'. Flash forward a month and I've decided to commit to staying in LA. I'm living with some of the most wonderful and inspiring people I know and weirdly enough - as if the track title foreshadowed what would happen once I decided to stay - we've just moved to Laurel Canyon!

I'm feeling so inspired, life is beautiful and I can't wait for you to hear what I've got lined up for you over the next few months.

Keeping in style with the previous releases on the label, 'I Won’t Change For You’ is a hazy and organic journey through memories of times and places passed.

‘Familiar Feeling’ feels like stumbling into a hidden disco in the midst of dream, full of sultry drums and emotive soundscapes.

‘Dusty Lover’ is the tale of being seduced by nature. The strong tribal rhythms lay the foundation for the erotic and entrancing sound of a flute in love.

It’s sweet and juvenile, contrasting a tender soundscape of washed out guitars and vocals with a fun, rolling baseline fit for a high energy daytime dance party.

Lovers Reunion finds it’s essence in the Hindustani classical raga ‘Bagreshi’, which is typically performed in the late night and is meant to depict the emotion of a woman waiting for reunion with her lover. Whispers of sitar drift dreamily around a deep pulsing low end, culminating in the perfect peak time track to dance to with eyes closed as you lose yourself in a trance.

Chasing Affection symbolises an unapologetic cry for love. Booming drums take centre stage until frequent collaborator Carmen Vandenberg steals our hearts with a haunting guitar led lament. It’s a simple track, but nevertheless effective in conveying an emotion that we’ve all felt countless times before.

There was a beautiful song which played peacefully in his mind when he began to think about the past and memories of her. How was he supposed to ever forget about her, let alone you. You had been the one in his mind since the very first day on earth all those many years ago. You was the last one he saw when he closed the door at night and went to bed. You lived on in his dreams, a beautiful daring fantasy which challenged him to forget, he could not. 

TÂCHES is set to release a beautifully emotional EP on Glitter Cowboy, a release which glimmers and shines with a touching, poignant grace which can sometimes be hard to channel through dance music.

In our lives, music tends to play a multi-faceted role where it can do things like help you connect with those around you. But at the same time, it can be used as a powerful tool for self-reflection and healing - and often, this is when we need music the most. The latter is where we find the Mallorcan producer TÂCHES with his recent release Lessons In Loss on Glitter Cowboy.

Recently, the young producer went through one of the hardest experiences anyone can go through. In a Facebook post from yesterday, TÂCHES talks candidly around the focus of this EP, stating, "Since I lost my father in June, life is very different these days. Not necessarily on the outside, but it's certainly a whole new world on the inside looking out. I chose to dedicate the first half of this new EP to him, as a tribute to his wonderful and missed spirit."

We are fortunate to be premiering an original from the first half of the record. It is poignantly titled Fallen Bird and I could only surmise that TÂCHES  is referring to his father in the piece. Throughout its entirety, TÂCHES manages to create a magical, almost unsettling mood that makes one feel weightless and grounded simultaneously. As if you were actually watching a bird fall out of the sky, taking in all its majestic beauty while being helpless to stop its inevitable crash towards earth. If I had to guess, there are probably a lot of parallels from this imagery and what TÂCHES most likely experienced with his father earlier this year. Our hearts go out to him and we wish him the best in dealing with his loss.

Romance is dead? Romance is as alive as you decide to be. Much like death, romance gives us the chance to really work out the balance between who we are and who we want to be, where we’ve been and where we’re going. We get free reign to go a little mad and be a touch more vulnerable than we are usually. It’s the closeness to consciousness coupled with the distance from routine that makes it such a unique experience. In celebration of romance and naked passion, I present to you the first song of five that make up ‘Heart Over Heels’, my sixth EP on Glitter Cowboy.

Shirtless and shoeless, TÂCHES sits cross-legged in the dirt gently taking in his mountain surroundings. It’s clear that he’s deep in thought as he mindfully traces the shape of a fallen leaf in his hand and a slight smile gently spreads across his face. There’s a tangible feeling of love and fascination communicated through the way he looks at the world around him and it’s precisely this holistic approach to creativity that makes him such a captivating artist. This is the makeup of a being that finds passion and inspiration anywhere he looks. 

Contradictorily, he is as much a devotee to tradition as he is a breaker of rules. TÂCHES is uninterested in following trends, and instead seeks to provoke the senses through a deeply personal examination of culture and cliche. Conceptual without ever being pretentious, his music shows a deep rooted appreciation for the textures of the times passed and faraway places. There’s a certain urgency to capture the world as he perceives it; albeit a world seen through the rose tinted lenses of a creature forever romantically entangled with his surroundings.

There’s no one way to sum up TÂCHES’s music, as it’s perpetually in growth, bending and swaying like a tree in the wind. This sonic metamorphosis is due to a primal need to experiment coupled with a deep longing to express the continually transforming experience of being human. Drawing heavily from emotion and memory, there’s a clear sense of nostalgia in all that he creates. His pure and unabashed desire to combine the things that he loves manifests itself as rich and evocative music with massive personality and palpable global flavours. 

TÂCHES’s desire to build upon the world in which his music exists led to the creation of his label GLITTER COWBOY - the peculiar home for the sonic documentation of his journey. When you listen to GLITTER COWBOY, you are nakedly experiencing life through the eyes of TÂCHES as he seeks to embody self-awareness and optimism, along with finding inner peace through nature, artistic expression and simplicity of living.
