OFFEN 016 was long time in the making, and we could write a lot about it - from the first time Lena Willikens played it in Warsaw on 30.11.2019 to the quest for Tadi in Shanghai -, but we’ll live it at first words that fantastic sound designer, producer and DJ Tadi Yan wrote about „7 Diamond Lines“: 

„This is a well know Guru Rinpoche Prayer, and has been chanted at least 1800 years. It has seven lines. Almost all the Tibetan people know this and practice it. Guru Rinpoche was like the second buddha to them also known as Padmasambhava. 
This was recorded in Taipei 2013 during the Ushinisha Vijiaya Puja, chanted by a very famous lama Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche.“

非常荣幸能在宗萨仁波切和其他佛菩萨的加持下完成这首单曲，其内容是莲花生大士的祈请文，也叫金刚七句。莲花生大士是藏传佛教的开山祖师，在我的认知里，他总是和力量，降服，迅捷，有关。和宁静，安全，被动，没太多联系。所以就有了这首曲子。enjoy!

15th ИДА release is coming from Saint-Petersburg based Anastasia Zems. She delivers EP full of mystery, weird grooves, tribal elements, field recorded samples paired with her psychedelic vocals and ad-libs. 

On the remixes we welcome our friend, Karakter records’ own Pedro Martins, who transforms ‘African Fairytale’ into lush laidback breakbeat voyage, while on another one we see comeback of Aristidez who pushes the energy up on ‘359011_01’ and raises the trippy feel of the track.

Vernacular Records is proud to announce the launch of a new series called “Vernacular Fields”. In this series, we worked with an Armenian photographer, Sarkis Torossian, who did the visual. His work is not only about developing analogue photos of landscapes, there is whole transforming process of the image afterwards.

After developing, he digitalises the picture and modifies it to realise, by hand, monochromic prints on a drawing paper. 
The outcome is a unique visual on every print, worthy of a numerical paint. “Vernacular Fields” is about the work of a physical object on small series. The EP with a visual by Sarkis in a 10” format, a USB stick with the release and a digital file of the artwork, all inserted in a 10” vinyl cover. This will be limited to 20 editions, the EP will also be available in digital format.

In terms of music, the format is a 4 titles EP including a featuring with another Vernacular Records resident. This first series is opened by our resident Ashyl called “Polar Lights”. 4 tracks of “Epic Breakbeat”, thought as a journey around his universe, it includes a feat. With our resident Clery.

The lighthouse stood proudly in the middle of the desert, its bright beacon scanning the dunes like an all-seeing eye. As the warning lights reflected across the sand, each grain sparkled under its beam before melting away to reveal huge chasms of water. Was this a mirage or just a figment of their imagination?

Following the textural electronica of Da Iguana in December, Russian collective, event series and label Serenades are stepping into 2021 with their first split EP, which brings together Malka Tuti alumni LINJA and Beats In Space producer Anatolian Weapons. Complimenting each other beautifully, the two sides bring a mix of rumbling basslines, frantic percussion and deep, low slung rhythms to send you into a dizzying trance.
