Layton Giordani landed on Drumcode with his debut album, ‘Where It Begins’, on Monday (27th February). To celebrate the occasion he’s turned in a Fresh Kicks mix, which you can listen to above.

Production golden boy Giordani first hit Adam Beyer’s Drumcode imprint last year with ‘Rivington’ on the ‘A-Sides Vol 5’ compilation.

He’s also previously caught the eye of none other than Carl Cox, who signed him up on his Intec label for the release of ‘Never Forgotten’ in 2015.

For his debut album, the New York-born DJ/producer turned in an impeccable selection of no-nonsense techno across its 12 tracks.

And Giordani’s Fresh Kicks mix presents business as usual in that sense, demonstrating exactly why the 23 year old is one of the brightest young talents in main room techno.

Unser Podcast erhält in diesem Monat Zuwachs aus dem geschätzten Hause 'Tächno'. Damals noch als ein Teil des Duos 'Arts&Leni' bei uns im Keller zu Gast, heute als Soloprojekt losgelöst: DANIEL SCHIEBER.
Der Name ist Programm, mit ordentlich Tempo drängen die rollenden Bässe wuchtig voran und legen somit das Fundament für ein vielschichtiges Tech-House-Set, das konstant von mehreren Minimalsegmenten durchzogen wird und robust schiebt. Von düster bis heiter bietet dieser Mix atmosphärisch die volle Bandbreite und bildet damit den perfekten Grundstock für einen gelungenen April-Podcast.

Bevor du startest haben wir noch 3 kurze Fragen an dich.

Was erwartet uns heute Musikalisch von dir?

Martin hat sich heute gedacht nur Martin Books Tracks zu spielen, also meine Persönliche „Best Of“, Stücke die am heufigsten von anderen Dj´s gespielt werden und auf die ich natürlich sehr Stolz bin.

In welchem Genre bewegt sich dein Style?

Ich würde mein Style als „Techno Pop“ bezeichnen, es sind immer sehr Druckvolle Beats, die meist einen Kommerziellen Touch haben, die sich oft durch Feminine Vocals abzeichnen. 
Ich freu mich immer sehr zu hören, wenn Fans sagen, dass sie meine Musik Sofort vom style erkennen.

Wie sieht dein Set up aus mit dem du heute auflegen wirst?

Da es die meisten Stücke aus meinem Set heute auf Vinyl gibt, hatte ich vor mit Platte zu spielen, ABER :)) mein Liebe Agentin Annie (Cubeplus) und ich, hatten vor kurzem in neue Nexus2 Player von Pioneer investiert und da ich auch so in den Clubs spiele, werden die natürlich heute eingeweiht.
