we started 2014 with 5 gigs in the first 2 days and the final one was at the legendary Revolver in one of our favourite cities; Melbourne. Pretty much everyone who’s been to Melbourne has at least one Revolver story! Apart from a few hours on a Saturday afternoon they’re open non stop all weekend, it’s an ace dark space to get lost in, a touch of Berlin maybe. Despite being a little weary we were buzzing to see so many people still out from NYE alongside some fresh faces too, and with a great dancefloor vibe going on we decided to record our set, enjoy.

so here it is: our Turmbühnen set. It was something truly special for us to play there. We have been dancing and celebrating there for many many years in the past as guests, even when we started doing music together as umami.
Some of you asked why we didn’t sing live or played so few umami songs. Thats because it was a DJ set and not a live set! Besides, we wanted to play a little different than normally and combine our current style with the way the Turmbühne sounded back when we started to be there.
So a big thank you to everybody who was there and shared this moment with us!

PS There was a misunderstanding between us and the soundguy at the end of the set. We cut that part out because it is annoying to listen to :)

In den letzten fünf Jahren gab es wohl nicht viele Wochenenden an denen der Hamburger "RICH VOM DORF" nicht in einem Club hinter den Reglern stand.
Von der Hamburger Waterkant, bis runter in die Alpen und wieder zurück. Wenn er nicht unterwegs ist, dann hängt er die meiste Zeit hinter seinen Computerbildschirmen und werkelt an neuen Tracks, arbeitet an der Planung für eine der Veranstaltungen, bei denen er die Finger mit im Spiel hat, und nun ist auch noch ein Label dazu gekommen. Der Tag hat eigentlich zu wenige Stunden und die Woche zu wenige Tage, für all die Ideen die sich in "Rich´s" verrücktem Köpfchen finden, aber was solls, wer braucht Freizeit, wenn er die Arbeit, die er macht, aus vollem und ganzem Herzen liebt. Wir sehn uns am Wochenende, da wo die Musik laut ist und die Lichter bunt funkeln. RÄVE ON & @taechno

Bevor ich euch erzähle wie es zu diesem Set kam, möchte ich all den Künstlern danken für ihre Werke die sie mir käuflich als auch „for free“ zu Verfügung gestellt haben. Ohne ihre Leidenschaft zur Musik wäre kein Track auf diesem Set möglich gewesen – DANKE!
Aber nun ein paar Worte zu diesem Set. Entstanden ist es eigentlich durch eine Nachricht hier bei Soundcloud und der Frage, ob ich nicht mal ein Set gestalten könnte, dass sich um das Ende einer Beziehung und den Start in etwas Neues darstellt. Ich war von diesem Thema sofort angetan. Doch dann geht es eigentlich erst los. Welche Tracks sind passen und wie baue ich das Set überhaupt auf?
Ein paar der Künstler und der Tracks waren mir sofort klar. Andere musste ich erst suchen und wieder andere vielen mir zufällig in die Hände. Doch warum diese Tracks und diese Reihenfolge. Ich wollte von Beginn an nicht unbedingt eine traurige Stimmung vermitteln, daher habe ich mich für ein „seichtes Ausklingen“ einer Beziehung entschlossen. Oft ist das Ende einer Beziehung ein schleichender Prozess. Man lebt sich nach und nach auseinander und ehe man es genau bemerkt lebt man nur noch nebeneinander her und die Liebe ist ein Teil der Vergangenheit…
Was danach folgt ist unterschiedlich – manchmal eine Zeit des Auf und Ab, auf der schnellen Suche nach einem neuen Partner – manchmal aber auch eine Zeit in der man einfach die Freiheit genießt, die man nun, da man wieder allein und auf sich selbst gestellt ist auslebt. Wie auch immer man die Zeit nach einer Beziehung  gestaltet, im Nachhinein betrachtet  war es die Zeit vor der nächsten Beziehung mit all ihren Höhen und Tiefen …

Aber nun genug geredet – jetzt lasse ich die Musik sprechen ☺ Also Musik an und genießt die Reise. Ich hoffe euch gefällt mein neustes Set!
