Last year Franklin had the pleasure of interviewing Move D ahead of a Club Mick's party that never happened. They chatted about clubbing, techno, space and in particular, Stanley Kubrick’s sci-fi masterpiece - ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’. Franklin' accompanies the conversation with a selection of spaced-out ambience, deep house, and dubby techno, solely from David Moufang’s discography.

Rich Vom Dorf, a strange foreign artist name, isnt it? But its meaning is easily explained when you
know that the guy behind the project is called Richard and "vom Dorf" means "from the village" in
german language.
Born in the eighties on the countryside he discovered electronic music in the early nineties and what
had begun as a passion led into a full time job as dj, producer, promoter and owner of the label
"tächno".
The style of his productions and sets varys from deep emotional melodic progressive house, happy
techhouse and even indie dance. This maybe is a wide range of sound but all this music has one
thing in common - its made to please your heart.
2020 was a crazy year for all of us but it was an amazing one for rich. Two of his tracks reached
number one in the traxsource progressive house top100, he had countless other chart positions and
his music was played on many radio stations. Letz see what 2021 will bring, but one thing is for
sure, you should really keep an eye on this guy.

BIO:
Nora was born in Essen and raised in a small town near Münster in North-Rhine- Westphalia. After her studies - amongst others for three years in Australia - and a short 2 year working trip to Luxemburg she finally moved to Cologne in 2017.
Art has always been fascinating to Nora.
She started to paint art since she has been 14, she has been dancing since she was able to listen to music and in 2016 she fell in love with Techno. In 2020 she finally started to turn the tables.
Nora loves art that makes her smile even on the rainiest day. Her paintings are as colorful and bright as her Sets.
They come with a great variation within the melodic techno genre, bouncy tech house such as Criminal Bassline or Heinz Music and deep and dark techno such as Jaw Dropping, Jannowitz Records, Subios, Phobos, Terminal M or AlpaKa MuziK.
Nora loves the sound of Karim Alkhayat. His deep and at the same time epic and touching peaks are exactly what she likes. Also the kinky style of Joseph Disco and Daniel Jaeger are making her speechless.

Vinícius Souza Aka RIGOONI is a brazilian producer/dj. Coming from a family of music lovers, it was just a matter of time for the young man to find his purpose. It was through his parents, listening to vinyl records since childhood, where he obtained his greatest musical influences. Self-taught, Vinícius began his productions at the age of 11 allowing himself to explore different genres of house music, building a melodic, organic, atmospheric and exciting sound to bring many positive vibes. His songs are constantly supported by big names.

We welcome the legendary producer and label cofounder of @8bit-records-mannheim , Gorge!

Gorge, aka Pit Waldmann’s musical journey is the story of a lifetime. From his teenage years as a pop drummer, to his vibrant DJ career, to his role as one of the most revered producers in the electronic scene, Gorge has always been hooked on the beat. „I grew up surrounded with a mix of trance, techno, house and hip-hop,“ he says. „It gave me a very open mind.“

His attitude and openness has fuelled a thriving career as DJ, producer, and co-owner, with Nick Curly, of 8bit Records. Gorge sees no reason to compartmentalise his music, or himself. As a young DJ in Mannheim, he combined working five days a week as a paramedic with playing in the city’s thriving club scene. „In the ’90s clubs were open every day of the week,“ he recalls with a laugh. „I was going to study medicine but the music infected me.“

Eventually Gorge gave up work as a paramedic to focus on music. He began releasing records in the early ’00s, experimenting with deep sounds. In 2005 he and musical comrade Nick Curly founded 8bit Records, which became one of the standout labels of forward thinking electronica. It pioneered minimal in its early years, before evolving into a deeper, groovier sound. „That’s when the real hype began,“ Gorge says.

Once it started, the hype never stopped. Gorge pushes his sound and builds his reputation with every release, every gig. „I’m not a DJ who plays the obvious tracks with the big breakdowns,“ he notes. „I show people you can have a good time with hypnotic, groovy stuff. Every night is different, but I always want to create an atmosphere in the club.“

Heute habe ich eine waschechte Augsburgerin am Start, die schon seit geraumer Zeit Clubs und Festivals bespielt und mit ihrem unverkennbarem & groovigem Sound die Leute zum Tanzen bringt. - wie kam es dazu : Ich mir mal eine sogenannte bucket list gemacht, also Dinge die ich im Leben mal machen möchte, da hab ich drauf geschrieben, das ich einmal spielen möchte um zu wissen wie sich das anfühlt hinter den Decks. Zu meinem 33. Geburtstag hat ein Freund einen Gig für mich klar gemacht im Kater Kiosk quasi als Geburtstags Überraschung. Ich hatte da nur knapp 8 Wochen Zeit um mir das irgendwie selbst bei zu bringen. So hab ich mich jeden Tag an nen Mixer gestellt und hab probiert und geübt, hab Musik gesucht und hab sogar mir ein Notizbuch zugelegt und immer wenn ich dachte das Tracks gut zusammenpassen hab ich das notiert und mich quasi auf den Gig fast schon akademisch vorbereitet. Ich hab aber nicht gedacht dass ich nach diesem Gig irgendwie weitermachen würde. Hab nicht gedacht, dass ich da Chancen hätte. Doch irgendwie kam dann eins zum anderen und es kamen dann von verschiedenen Veranstaltern und Clubs Anfragen. Und ich hab mir gesagt, warum eigentlich nicht weitermachen, denn es macht mir einfach super viel Spaß und es ist für mich auf jeden Fall auch etwas was mich in meiner Entwicklung als Mensch viel gegeben hat und gibt.
