Aeyem who’s a multi-instrumentalist and producer from Melbourne, Australia. He is also a talented DJ who performs regularly at festivals and other large events in his home country, but this is his first official release.
The solo original “Reach the Water” also features the vocals of Lakyn whose emotive singing style pulls on the heart strings, while the melodic house/techno backing track provides a deep and pulsating groove similar to the likes of Innellea and Ben Böhmer.

German duo Super Flu deliver a stunning remix true to the immersive style they have released on record labels ranging from Diynamic and Stil Vor Talent to their own imprint Monaberry. Known for their quirky melodies and epic atmosphere underpinned by vibrant percussion, their remix on this release is another fine example of their distinctive style.

“Reach The Water” Feat. Lakyn opens with spine-tingling ethereal pads that are soon joined by the pulsating bassline which radiates warmth through the tracks. An early breakdown section introduces the sensual vocals that become the tracks defining element. Wonky and wonderful the groove is pushed forward by the pounding of the kick drum and washes in the liquid textures that add to the track’s immersive vibe.

Super Flu step up on remix duty, and their version is a deep and dirty re-tweak, utilising the original elements, but adding Super Flu's hallmark dirty and infectious flavours. Wobbly edges meet the warmth, as a gated synth line takes control, while the vocal glides effortlessly, befire the twittery riff really takes control. Big and bold!

French master of the cool beat ‚Douze’ is another making his debut on Media Blackout with his incredible rendition of „I Am Not Afraid“. Part deep house, part driving disco, his „Gonna Hide Dub“ mix of ‘I Am Not Afraid’ is a ode to house music that creates a mood that’s perfect for any dance-floor.

The second remix comes from none other than London based sound maestro Le Flex, who to people in the known is a true master oft he craft. He drops a stunning remix of ‘I Am Not Afraid; a modern beach house jam with all the right elements. English wunderkind LeSonic, famed for his body moving beats and immense production skills, as well as work with Dirty Vegas, Vanilla Ace and Matvey Emerson delivers a remix that dives into more upbeat territory with lots of euphoric vibes. I was in the middle of our US tour in Los Angeles last year and got asked to remix one of the biggest acts in the world - Coldplay - so I locked down for a couple of days (into my manager's house) and here is the result. The title track, produced by ACUD and BEATMÖRTELZ, is here new interpreted in an impressive way by the downtempo specialists ARUTANI and O/Y, by RODION (ALIEN ALIEN), which is known for his massive Nu-Disco Skills, and finally, in a faster version, by AIO. Further LUKAS ENDHARDT gives the poetic track FLIEGEPETER a new look. The original version by ACUD will be published also in a radio version.

The album is framed by two contemplative tracks, which are reminiscent of Holger Czukay’s oeuvre. The saxophone in the opening track "The Heath" undulates like an introvert leading voice in a meditation. The long and meticulously crafted ambient outro "Txalaparta" features a spoken word sample by the Basque folk musician Txomin Artola from 1978. The four tracks at the heart of the album are beat driven, percussion-heavy, loaded with synths and random horn samples. "Alo?" sounds like Snakefinger tries to get on a Skype call with Serge Gainsbourg. "Cacti All Over My Head" could well be a Ween instrumental with long arching synth lines over a slowed down bossa nova beat.

Fever is a frivolous album which bursts with exalted charm and guest musicians. This is not another greetings-from-the-lockdown album, but with the obvious reference in the title it’s almost a tongue-in-cheek name about creative obsessions of our times.
It's the debut album by the multi-instrumentalist Y Bülbül who has learned his trade working with various interesting artists and bands in London in the past 10 years. He is also a passionate crate digger and DJ. His own radio show is unerringly titled "Bülbül's Gemüsement Park", which airs on Netil Radio, a community broadcasting station in Hackney.

Bonus fact, Bülbül is the Turkish name for a brown-eared passerine bird, one that's into singing.
