Jim Blackmann was born in Liverpool but grew up in Canada, where he learnt the music of Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen. He returned to the UK and lived and worked in the North of England. He set off on a period of travel before finally settling in the South.

He is a writer, with two non-fiction books and a novel to his name, and wrote a great deal of poetry before turning to song-writing. His writer background shows in his lyricism. He plays guitar and piano and performs regularly in and around the Southwest of England.

Based in Michigan, DJQuackerKing joins YGPSTUDIOS as a unique songwriter for a chill unique vibe that fits many genres, which some could consider indie. Using techniques like generative AI, local artists and innovative musical integrations... DJ QuackerKing shares experiences, adventures, and simplicity  in musical stories and sounds.
