Dieser Song ist eine wütende und nihilistische Anklage an die Menschheit, die eine einst paradiesische Schöpfung rücksichtslos zerstört hat. Er zeichnet das Bild einer Welt, in der der Mensch, getrieben von Hunger nach Macht und Lust auf Tod, alles Heilige zerfickt und zertrampelt, ohne Reue oder Verstand. Der Text gipfelt in einem explosiven Chorus, der die zertretenen Kronen und die Asche im Mund der Täter beklagt, während sie mitleidlos reißen, töten und lachen. Gott wird nicht als König oder Trostspender dargestellt, sondern als ein Spiegel, der dem Menschen sein eigenes hassverzerrtes Antlitz zeigt. Die Bridge intensiviert die düstere Stimmung mit Metaphern von blutenden Uhrwerken und brechenden Tierherzen, bis hin zur Erkenntnis, dass die Menschheit als "Könige des Nichts" über Leere herrscht und den Untergang küsst. Das Lied endet mit der bitteren Erkenntnis, dass kein Retter kommt, kein Licht oder Morgen, sondern nur Asche, Schuld und die selbstgeschaffenen Gräber einer "zertretenen Schöpfung", die für immer verstummt ist.
