Distance is Killing me

Another night, another fight with hope

This is the first song I wrote together with my late friend, who created the lyrics. It was born from the requests of our friends in college and around my neighborhood, since we used to play covers of other bands every day. Eventually, they asked us to create our own song — and that’s how “Joni” came to life.

Un arranque de guitarras que no gritan, sino que acarician con distorsión suave, como si la melancolía se disfrazara de fiesta. La voz entra sin permiso, entre ingenua y rabiosa, y el ritmo se clava con una simpleza hipnótica que recuerda al eco de un garage casi ochentero. “Punk Melon” no es sólo punk: es un guiño dulce dentro del ruido, un viaje breve que te deja la sensación de haber escuchado algo escondido en un casete olvidado, que al sonar vuelve a teñir de nostalgia el aire presente
