Antiqu’e Ampomah celebrates the release of a 17-minute Alt Soul EP, 'As Strange as It Seems'. This project, born from facing mortality and preserving sanity during the first six months of ABVD chemotherapy treatment and lockdown (2021), features soundscapes, nature, expressionism, jazz-inspired interludes, classical connotations, and spoken word.

‘As Strange As It Seems’ delves into adverse childhood experiences (ACE’S), identity, and the emotional landscape of growing up in South London. Can't wait to share 🌻🦋

something happened on the way to heaven

I found a Kanye-type beat on YouTube, and an idea hit me. I loaded up the sample, chopped it up, and when I heard the phrase, ‘It ain’t no big thing that you’re leaving,’ I instantly knew what this song was about. Inspired by Frank Ocean’s lyrics on White Ferrari, the track took me back to my first love—the bittersweet process of losing someone you cared deeply for, the struggle of letting go, and the inevitable contentment that follows.
