When I lived in Bushwick, Brooklyn, New York, I had an interesting roommate named Tim.  He was an excellent cook, a nice guy, who would organize and host these amazing dance parties.  It was a second-floor, walk-up loft just steps from the Jefferson Avenue L train (subway station).  Anyway, one day he's talking about burritos and he mentions a "struggle burrito" and then goes on to explain that, if I remember correctly, it was all the person had to eat, so the customer is like "stuff it" or if it is a burrito that is weak looking, with very little inside of it.

Some time later, I wrote the lyrics and music for "Struggle Burrito" or "Run, Burrito, Run!" and played it on keyboard.  You can probably find the original version by searching YouTube for "Kris Kemp Struggle Burrito song".  

Recently, I put the lyrics into Suno and generated two songs by using some specific prompts.  Enjoy!

Dreamcicle: The Story
Dreamcicle was born in the neon glow of suburban nostalgia, in the heart of Asheville, North Carolina—a city known for its creative spirit and mountain views. The seven members, all born in the early 2000s, grew up on the sounds of their parents’ record collections: A-ha, Erasure, Clan of Xymox, Pet Shop Boys, and the shimmering synths of the 1980s. Their parents’ stories of mixtapes, VHS movie nights, and late-night radio inspired them to chase the magic of a decade they never lived through.

How They Met:
The band’s origin traces back to a college open mic night at a cozy Asheville coffeehouse, “The Velvet Bean.” The singer/keyboardist, Jules, posted a flier on the campus board: “Looking for dreamers who love synths, harmonies, and the 80s.” The flier, decorated with hand-drawn cassette tapes and pastel colors, caught the eyes of Maya (drummer), Leo (bassist), Cass (guitarist), and Rowan (keyboardist/producer). They met for coffee, bonded over their favorite retro tracks, and decided to jam in Maya’s parents’ garage, which was already half-filled with vintage keyboards and VHS tapes.

Where They Practice:
Dreamcicle practices in a converted attic studio above Maya’s family’s craftsman house, just outside downtown Asheville. The space is filled with string lights, old movie posters, and a wall of synthesizers. Sometimes, they project 80s movies—like “The Breakfast Club” or “Blade Runner”—on a white sheet as they rehearse, letting the visuals inspire their sound.
