This song is about my favorite hockey team the Toronto Maple Leafs.   The first verse is about the last time they came close to winning the Stanley Cup.   It is about Game 6, Leafs Vs. Kings.   They were tied at 3-3 going into overtime.   Wayne Gretzky high sticked Doug Gilmour and it should have been a major penalty.   It was never called and Wayne Gretzky ended up putting a lucky goal off the skate of Dave Ellet to win the game.   We ended up losing the series.   The second verse is about how they continue to upset me but that I remain a fan.   It is a nostalgic look of what would happen if they did win.   It would mean a lot to me as they are my favorite team, and I know Leaf fans feel the same.

I currently live in Toronto and have been writing hip hop tracks for about 10 years.  I am inspired by 90’s hip hop: Nas, Mobb Deep, Wu-tang Clan, Common, Eminem, Rakim, and etc.  The art you see is original paintings from my uncle Freddy Taylor.   All the beats were produced by my friend Scott.
