"Red" is a sound and visual art installation that aims to reveal the hidden dangers beneath beauty. Using real-time environmental radiation data as its source material, the installation feeds this data into a custom-built algorithm. The algorithm generates multi-channel sound signals based on the fluctuations in the data, creating an immersive soundscape. Simultaneously, the data is mapped onto a visual system, driving changes in color. The proportion of red and green shifts in response to the radiation levels, forming a dynamic visual spectrum. Taiwan has long been embroiled in controversies over nuclear energy, and the constant external threats have dulled our senses. Yet, these issues persist. The world is full of contradictions: on one hand, human civilization has made countless achievements; on the other, we find ourselves trapped in crises and hazards.
