Keith Linhares is frustrated by the national political scene. That frustration he feels, and says a lot of people feel, is one of his motivations to run for District 1 Worcester City Council. Linhares wants people to be able to get back to a sense of community and that at the local level we can work together on things that transcend national partisan politics. Among the issues he hopes to tackle are housing and safe streets. Linhares also speaks with Talk of the Commonwealth about civic engagement and goes into some of the differences between himself and his opponent and how they see the job of District Councilor. He also gets into the recent DOJ report on the WPD and talks about the emphasis on the downtown area and did it come at the expense of the neighborhoods. Meet Keith Linhares Running for District 1 Worcester City Council

Whittier Farm's Model: Sam Whittier explained that her family's farm focused on "production agriculture," with dairy, beef, and produce being their core products. Their business model centered on feeding the local community through their year-round, on-site retail store rather than participating in many external farmers' markets.
Stowe Farm's Model: Maura Stowe described her farm's focus on agritourism, which she helped start as a teenager. The farm is a seasonal, weekend destination offering activities like apple picking, hayrides, a petting zoo, pig races, and even a mechanical bull to attract families.
