Two years after he first appeared on @balmat_cat with '1977', @mikep (AKA µ-Ziq) returns with '1979', seeing the Planet Mu head venture into the wilderness, seeking something - half-formed memories, thoughts caught in mid-air - in some of his most abstract, searching music yet.

Every track on the record is a world unto itself - including the full-scale breakbeat abandon of 'Houzz 14', the rarest of dancefloor detours for Balmat.

November brings forth a cold edge, the harbinger of winter. To be honest, I look forward to these months of hibernation. My focus draws inwards, it’s a time of isolation, of retrospection, providing a much needed mental respite from the lovely chaos that is summer and festival season.
