I post things I compose, I create or the skills I have built on social media for multiple reasons. The first reason is means of setting a milestone of progress.
The second is a little more subtle but also important. I post something with the knowledge that it can be seen by anyone which means it is public. This simple knowledge of it being public helps with stage freight. When I post my progress online it feels like my skills are up for debate and criticism so therefore I am less embarrassed and nervous to play for people in person and this overall reduces mistakes.
