در اين اپیزود ، آثار و تفکرات مارک روتکو هنرمند نئواکسپرسیونیست معاصر مورد بحث و تحلیل قرار میگیرد. شهرت روتکو به سبب مربع-مستطیل های رنگی است که با لبه هایی محو و بر روی تابلوهای عظیم نقش بسته اند. اگرچه آثار اولیه روتکو دارای رنگ های شاخص و زنده ای نظیر نارنجی می باشند، اما آثار متاخر وی به تک رنگ های خنثی نظیر طوسی، بنفش تیره و سیاه منتهی شده است. یکی از نکات مورد توجه روتکو، چگونگی نمایش آثار در یک فضا می باشد؛ نمایشی که بر روی مخاطب تاثیر بیشتری بگذارد.
