이건 내 친구 중 하나의 얘기
걔랑 또 다른 친구 둘 총 셋이
어렸을 때부터 음악을 같이 했나 봐
걔 크루 이름이 뭐 섹시스트릿
아무튼 꽤나 잘 나갔지
걔 말고 걔가 속한 크루 말이야
아니 그 크루라고 하기보단
걜 제외한 나머지 둘이 더 맞다
그 둘은 참 반짝거렸어 항상
어디를 가던 주목을 받아
회사도 가고 쇼미도 나가
1, 2 등 자리에 나란히
서있는 거를 그 나머지 한 명은
티브이로 봤었지
걔도 같이 나가 예선 탈락한 그 방송을
방에 처박혀 티브이로
보는 걔 기분이 어땠을까 싶어
근데 걔는 굳이
슬퍼하지 않으려 했어
그늘이 익숙했거든 더 숨어 깊숙이
만화로 치면 원피스의 루피가
고무고무기술 쓸 때 비중이라곤
그저 그걸 보면서 감탄하는 컷이
다인 루피 친구 1 (푸힛!)
근데 걔가 더 븅신 같은 건
그 역할에 만족했다는 점
나도 꼭 저렇게 되고 말 거라는
머릿속 야망의 스위치를 껐지
진짜 한심하지 않냐? 나 같음 안 그랬을 텐데
그래서 걔가 누군지 대답하긴 좀 곤란해
그냥 아는 사람 얘기
이건 또 아까 그 친구의 얘기
걘 이제 음악을 하는 게 재미가 없나 봐
생각이 들어 '난 괜히 음악을 시작해가지고
폐 끼치는 게 아닌가 엄마 아빠한테
걔네 부모님은 믿고 있었대
'내 아들도 언젠간 다른 애들처럼 성공할 거야
그 아들이 패배자라는 걸 안다면
걘 술이나 처먹고 다녀
엄마한테 전화가 오면 '나 작업
곧 나도 잘될 거라고
제발 좀 걔네랑 비교 좀 하지 말라고
제발 좀 끊어 엄마 때문에
분위기 다 망쳤어 나 녹음 안 해
현실에선 비중도 없는 새끼가

학교 다닐 때도 걔 친구 둘은
피프티 센트나 릴 웨인 같은
빡센 걸 좋아했지만 난
브로콜리너마저나 10CM 같은
조용한 음악을 더 좋아했지
아, 방금 나라고 했었나 암튼
걔 얘길 더 해보려 해
항상 조연으로 살았던 애

d-2 has finally arrived! this album is so special to me and completely beyond my wildest dreams. it gave me tons of inspiration, so i decided to take a stab at recreating one of my (and yoongi's) favorite tracks - people! i experimented with lots of sounds and samples (and even made my own marimba sound!) just to get this as close to the original as possible. i know it's not perfect, but i hope you enjoy!

please show this mixtape lots of love. we all know yoongi has been working incredibly hard on it since 2016, and probably well before! 6 years into my love story with BTS and he never fails to amaze me.
