Lily Tomlin! Jane Fonda! Rita Moreno! Sally Field! We had to see what these 80-year-old ladies were up to in the geriatric sports comedy 80 For Brady. The story features four lifelong friends who travel to watch Tom Brady play in Super Bowl LI in 2017. The movie offers supporting roles from Tom Brady, Billy Porter, Rob Corddry, Alex Moffat, Bob Balaban, Glynn Turman, Sara Gilbert, Patton Oswalt, Rob Gronkowski, and the one and only Guy Fieri. The witty screenplay was written by Sarah Haskins and Emily Halpern, who were the writers of Booksmart (2019). The cinematography is by the great John Toll, who shot Braveheart, The Thin Red Line, and Cloud Atlas. Laughs were had by most of the audience for this wacky comedy. We'll tell you all the trouble that these ladies get into!

Non è un mistero il sostegno dato da Hollywood all’aborto. Ed ora, dopo la decisione della Corte Suprema, che lo scorso anno negli Stati Uniti ha ribaltato la sentenza Roe vs. Wade , e dopo la conseguente decisione di molti Stati americani di ridurre drasticamente la facoltà d’uccidere bimbi in grembo, puntuale si è levata la voce di Jane Fonda, sempre sconcertante: l’irriducibile femminista filo-abortista ha dichiarato che i politici pro-life andrebbero «assassinati». Lo ha fatto nel corso del talk show «The View», spronata dalla conduttrice Joy Behar, che le ha chiesto cos’altro i pro-choice possano fare, oltre a marciare ed a protestare, per far sentire la propria voce: «Assassinare» è stata l’incredibile risposta di Jane Fonda, ribadita di fronte alla richiesta di ripetere quanto detto, giuntale da un’altra ospite della trasmissione, l’attrice Lely Tomlin. «Omicidio», ha ribadito. Poi la conduttrice ha “derubricato” il tutto, facendo passare l’assurda esternazione come una semplice battuta, un banalissimo scherzo, ma il triste siparietto non è stato per nulla gradito sui social, dove sono immediatamente piovute critiche e commenti assolutamente contrari. Secondo il conservatore Rogan O’Handley, ex-avvocato di Hollywood e commentatore, la dichiarazione di Jane Fonda, peraltro ripetuta per ben due volte, rappresenterebbe un «incitamento criminale alla violenza». La deputata Anna Paulina Luna, repubblicana, ha chiesto all’attrice ed alla trasmissione, che l’ha ospitata, una «pubblica ritrattazione». Dopo il clamore suscitato dalle sue parole, Jane Fonda, evidentemente fuori tempo massimo, ha rilasciato una dichiarazione a Fox News, avallando l’ipotesi dello «scherzo», davvero di pessimo gusto ed in ogni caso inaccettabile: «Il mio linguaggio del corpo ed il mio tono hanno reso chiaro come stessi usando un’iperbole». Evidentemente no, viste le numerose reazioni provocate.
